Progress

Eyo,

Incase anyone wonders how my project has been doing, here you go. We recorded this a while ago, so a lot of minor bugs such as unsmooth gun swapping already got fixed. Hope you guys can show some appreciation and feedback. If you’d like to check it out for youself, send a friendrequest to Soundcrusher (my roblox name). Testing place can be found HERE. If you’d favorite to show support at the actual game HERE, I’ll love you forever.

Thanks!

PS. YES it is FE.

It looks good. I like that the atmosphere stayed the same, I always liked that style.

How possible would it be to add a little bit of a random variation in some of the animations? I think if you could work that in it would make the walking/running animations feel less periodic and a little more natural. The only other thing I noticed was the flick to re engage the revolver cylinder is a little slow, I think if you re-timed it so it worked like this it would fix that.

Are there plans for vehicles in this?

Not really yet. Maybe in the future. Map will change a lot. Will go from boring ass wasteland with nothing to do to huge industrial environment. Glad that you like it, and yes I’ll check the animating when I’ve some spare time in my holidays (next week)

Hey man I love your work and I’m also going to give my honest opinion. The animations I believe are excellent, the mechanics seem flawless.

Correct me or ignore me if you’re already planning on this, but instead of focusing solely on the mechanics and looks of the player, what would make your game more impressive than your potential competitors would be to spend a lot of effort on the enemies themselves. I’ve always wanted to see some pretty crazy looking zombies in a roblox game. Having them animate and stagger realistically, swaying and moving inconsistently as a “zombie” would, etc. Even some crawling animations would be nice. Spend as much detail on them as you do the player and I believe you’ll have an exceptional game. There’s one out there right now that is the closest example to what I’m talking about(that I know of) . It was a GCC entry I think. It’s all zombie shooting orientated… Can’t remember the name.

The reason no one has done the zombie animation thing is most likely cause of lag. It would only really be possible if there weren’t many zombies. or zombies only did this animation when close(in view of) to players. I’m not animation expert but those frames must cause a bit of lag here and there.

If it’s done locally(filteringenabled most likely) and with caution I don’t see why it would be “Impossible”. I’d refrain from using humanoids though lol

that gun sway when you turn side to side is super sexy looking

This game was actually ment to be PVP. But who knows? Maybe I’ll actually make this a zombie survival+PVP instead of just a PVP. Currently also working on inventory mechanics (Including crafting, which I already coded a while ago). Also, this game is ment to be playable for everyone. So, the Client will all be fancy and stuff. But the server will be simple and as far as simple can give beauty with it aswell.

I think more people would play it if it was a Survival/Zombie game, you could do all kinds of different rounds, special bonuses and other fun things. PVP works too though, I’m sure it would still be an amazing game.

I really like the animations. Does it use FE?

You’re thinking of Bloodfest, best zombie game because they actually focus on the zombies even just a little.

As the bounty goes up, all I can think of is the dual reality that maybe its not the world that’s falling apart, but the player, and that the bounty is the only sign that the player has really been murdering citizens.

This is what I get from reading too much fiction.

Woah are you using the animation editor?

those CSG rocks are super amazing.

Those aren’t mine rocks, these are Shaylan007’s. As I already stated, nothing you actually see from the current map is going to stay in the actual game. Every map aspect will change. But yeah, Shay sure did an amazing job at those rocks.

No. Tweening code that allows me to animate real smoothly.
