You may remember me from this post, I am working on a unique PvE Survival Shooter game. Over 2 years of restarting development I’ve found a solid framework that I’ve decided to build on and would like some feedback.
If you have played the previous versions, you will notice a major improvement in all areas of the game, from a real menu screen, to more engaging gameplay.
Feedback and Constructive Criticism would be greatly appreciated. You can join the game here.
I’m also trying to get some publicity as the game is a hidden gem, so don’t hesitate sharing with friends!
Feel free to partake in the poll, and leave a comment!
Just played the game, I’ve got to say the main shooting and enemy system is very clean and feels great.
I know you’re focussed on the core mechanics for the time being (as per the in-game message), but later it would be worth considering the style of your game. Right now there is a whole jumble of fonts, menus and so on (hacker-style loading screen, completely different vibe menu and chat box, etc.). You’ll want to streamline all of this at some point so everything works together.
The game will also greatly benefit from a proper map when you decide to add it. A forest-style map with wooden planks as gates and thick greenery and abandoned houses limiting player movement (to prevent leaving the map) would work great.
Later you will also need to consider (if you haven’t already) what players are supposed to do during the day. I found myself skipping days not because I was trying to speed-run or anything, but purely because there was nothing to really do.
I also found a minor bug/inconsistency with weapon equipping, where the weapon is briefly seen midair while equipping it. Not a high priority thing but would be nice to address eventually.
Anyway, very solid game so far with a lot of potential. Good luck
Naturally I’m not so great at design, so this really helps me. I will take all these into consideration and go from there.
As per the day time, it’s sort of meant to be skipped unless you want to explore the map (which doesn’t quite exist yet), or you want to purchase weapons, get ammo, etc. It’s more of a gap in the action that you can skip if you’d like.
First thing i noticed is the ui in game doesnt match the loading screen, i really liked the loading screen ui so… UI consitency would be nice. The shooting system is nice and concept is good. Ill play some more and give more feedback
