ProximityPrompts not showing up in studio

Whenever I create a ProximityPrompt object, parented to a BasePart, it doesn’t show up both in Edit mode and Play Solo. No properties were changed and the Enabled property is set to true.

I have no idea why this is happening.

It won’t show up in the editor alone. Make sure there are no parts blocking it. If there are, there’s a property to allow it to show through the parts.

A few months ago when I last used ProximityPrompts, it showed up fine in the editor. No parts are blocking it, obviously.

Wait, is it possible that the part the prompt is parented to is blocking it and it’s not ignored?

All I can say is that it must be something you’ve done previously, I loaded into a pretty empty game and tested it, it works fine for me.

Loaded into a fresh baseplate and it’s the exact same.

It shouldn’t be like that, the engineers are smart enough to ignore the parent part.

Solved it by setting the RequiresLineOfSight property to false. Maybe there was another part blocking it.
