Published Avatars Not Appearing on Marketplace

I have published multiple avatars to the Marketplace, but none of them appear when searching on the marketplace.

Only Roblox made avatars are visible, while my published ones don’t show up at all. Here’s an example screenshot when searching “Penguin” , all visible avatars are from Roblox, even though I uploaded several penguin avatars.

I want to add my own experience to this report, as I believe this to be severely impacting the sales of newer items.

From my research, all of these Roblox created outfits were created in mid-late 2024. They also never update which means the same items are benefiting from showing up on Avatars in search.

I believe this is very damaging to newly created items and items that weren’t selected as part of these Avatars. UGC Creators should have some control over what Avatars show up in search by making Avatars that contain their own items and using relevant keywords to improve their discovery.

There is currently no way to search for specific Avatar Styles created by UGC Creators. We have to rely on the algorithms to show them on the front page of the Marketplace. Allowing Avatars created by UGC Creators to show up in search alongside Roblox created Avatars would open up to greater discovery of these Avatar Styles.

I’m also observing this when using the desktop version of the app

I have the same issue occurring, only shows up roblox made avatars even though searching it up on the marketplace with the specific name of the avatar

Thanks for flagging! I confirmed with the team that avatars shared by the community do appear in the search results, although it’s not guaranteed that any specific avatar or item will appear in the results, and the number of results we show. currently is limited to a single page. There are a lot of factors that go into search relevance that determine the sort order. The avatar may also show up in other sorts, such as the Marketplace home page.

We continue to iterate and improve our search, and I’ve noted to the team the concern you shared about the quantity of Roblox avatars that appear.

This issue has not been resolved, but I believe that the original post was not clear enough about where the issue was found.

If you search for something in the marketplace and click on the “Avatars” tab, you will see a mix of community created and Roblox created avatars.

If you search for something in the marketplace and scroll down to the “Avatars” sort, you will see only Roblox created avatars.

I believe that that “Avatars” sort should either be removed or updated to match the “Avatars” tab.
