QoL for YOU! QoL for ME! QoL for EVERYBODY! | Developer Discussion #2

Hey, Tycoons! It’s been a while, huh! How have you been? We hope you’re all doing well.

We’re glad to announce that Ore Tycoon 2 is OFFICIALLY BACK, and we’ve got so much news to share with you since our last meeting! I don’t even know where to start… How about we recap first on what we know so far?

REACTIVE BUTTONS

Starting in Version 3.3, all buttons will now react and glow green once you have enough money to purchase its item. This will make it easier to see remaining upgrade paths and know when you can progress further!

The visuals are not the only thing that’s been improved though — a subtle cha-ching sound will also play upon purchasing new items in the Refinery! This is part of our push for a more immersive and detail-focused world design philosophy that you will see fleshed out in future updates. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for more subtle changes in the world, Tycoons!

DAILY INSPECTIONS

In Version 3.0, we’ve added the long-awaited Missions in the form of the ORE Club Battle Pass. However, from player feedback, it’s become clear that it was simply not enough, especially once the pass has been completed.

Hence, we’re introducing a new mechanic in this update — “Daily Inspections”! Complete daily missions to earn points, and fill the gauge to obtain Tycoon Bux and Battle Pass EXP!

P.S. We’ve also refreshed the ORE Club Interface, as well as others, to make it more appealing and user-friendly! What do you think? Pretty, huh?

MYSTERY BAG REWORK

As teased last April 11, the Mystery Bag system will be receiving an enormous rework! xMythicals now have their own separate guarantee counter, and… a Preferred Mythical selector?! Is that what I’m thinking of?

More details will be revealed soon, Tycoons, so keep your eyes peeled!

QNA TIME!

Now that the recap’s out of the way, how about we answer some of your questions and concerns?

Q: Having to go back to the Main Refinery just to get the Speedy Shoes and Bunny Ears is such a pain… Are there plans to add new boosts onto the newer areas?

A: While we do not have any news to share regarding new boosts at this moment, we totally understand the frustration with regards to boosts. Though Armory Boosts were initially designed to aid players in combat, we recognize its importance for exploration and general movement within the Refinery.

That’s why in Version 3.3, we’re optimizing how Armory Boosts are equipped! Armory Boosts will become hotswappable. This means that you no longer need to reset your character in order to switch from Speedy Shoes to Bunny Boosts, and vice-versa!

Additionally, Armory Boosts will now persist between character resets and sessions. Meaning, you no longer need to return to the Armory to re-activate your favorite Armory Boosts if you get defeated in combat, nor when you leave the game and return later!

Please note that you will still need to re-activate your Armory Boost after Researching.

Q. The new areas are cool and all, but navigating between them is becoming a pain… Can you do something about it?

A. We hear you! In Version 3.3, we’ve increased the Base SPD of all players by 2. This bonus is completely universal—no purchase needed. This is also on top of the Armory Boosts QoL optimization previously discussed!

Additionally, while we’ve added Portals in the previous updates to help facilitate transfers between areas, we’ve realized that it’s still not enough for regular gameplay. Thus, in future versions, we will be adding a new Quick Navigation feature that enables all players not in active combat to teleport back to specific spawn points in unlocked Refinery areas. Again, no additional purchase needed!

And if it’s still not enough, then hey, maybe you could give us a quick little join at PlantStudios for a quick and easy little SPD boost :eyes: (if you haven’t already!)

Q: The new area has been amazing, but it kinda makes the older areas be a bit boring in comparison… Will we ever see reworks of the old areas?

A: We totally get you! In developing Version 3.3, we began a review of the early-game areas to make progression smoother and more fulfilling. Some changes have been implemented on the earlier conveyor segments, and more will be rolled out in future updates.

Meanwhile, we’ve also realized that the staple Mechanical Upgrader mechanic simply does not exist for Area A, which meant that progression in the area was simply out of Tycoons’ control. Thus, in Version 3.3, we’ve added a new upgrader that will help Tycoons progress through the first Laboratory area quicker!

Meet the new and incredibly advanced ADV-Purifier!

With that said, our main focus still remains to be releasing new content for the game. This includes completing new areas, whether it be inside the Refinery or outside our temporal realities! So, while we won’t completely rule out complete, visual reworks for past locations, we hope that Tycoons can understand the reason behind the lack of attention on such remasters.

Well, in totally unrelated news, it seems that demand for Deepsea Pearls is increasing outside the Orechipelago… Perhaps we could ask the Fisherman for tips on how to enter this market in the future?

Q: I’m glad that Mystery Bags have been improved for those that love them… but they’re unavailable in my region! Will we ever be able to obtain items that are in the Mystery Bags?

A: Short answer, YES! Starting in Version 3.3, a new shop will be added to the game: Fisherman’s Finds! :fishing_pole:

The Fisherman’s Finds is a new store that can be found in the Catalog Menu. The item selection changes with the currently available Mystery Bag(s), and you will be able to purchase the base forms of these items in exchange of pure, hard-earned Tycoon Bux! No more RNG wrecking your OOF Bag dreams.

Q: There are SO. MANY. WEAPONS! I keep forgetting where my [favorite weapon] is among the sea of weapons! Please give us a Favorites button!

A: Done.

Um, and I’m not taking any more questions!

Well, that’s all the time we have left for today’s Developer Discussion! Thank you so much for your continuous and heartwarming support, Tycoons, and please look forward to the release of Version 3.3 this May 31, 2026 at 10:00 AM (UTC+8)!
