I’m pretty new to Roblox in general, wasn’t sure where to post. I was just wondering, if I’d ever finished making a game, how I could go about getting at least a very small playerbase for the game? Even just a consistent five players seems like it’d be enough for me.
Should I go with sponsors/ads? How much robux would I have to spend? I’d appreciate any kinds of advice as a Roblox newb
It is really up to you, I think most people go for the game advertisments so people can go straight to your game and get into it, I do not think you have to spend that much as long as it is a effective advertisment. Around the 5k mark will get you a decent ammount, make sure your adverts are clear and attractive before you put money into them though.
Hey, thanks for the quick response! 5k robux seems like quite a lot
And it seems to me sponsoring is easier since I don’t have to make an ad banner for it or anything? I’m just wondering if it matters whether I go with ads or sponsors, for a small game
Sometimes there are few Youtubers that make a “Playing your Roblox games” live stream. I figure that would be a great place to begin. Think about if it also pops up when other users search it? Get a few close friends you know and that might help it get seen.
Ads and sponsors are just linear Roblox-enforced ways to grow your game. Social media, famous presence, and devlogs along with blog posts. That being said, these methods aren’t for everyone, and it can vary depending on the game genre.
So until you’ve made a product that is playable, I wouldn’t worry about how to get players to see your game for now.
There are other discussed threads related to this question (advertising- sponsoring). If it’s enjoyable and well put together you should experiment spend small amounts and test both sponsor or advertisement and see which performs a decent ‘click-through rate’. In the future please try searching since many threads include tips and useful information.
For getting a small playerbase you shouldn’t put it all down on your first launch, do small amounts to test to see if players actually enjoy your game. Do a soft start put down small options for ads and sponsors and see which one performs better and overtime you could increase it depending if your wanting a more larger playerbase as a first appearance.
Although regarding your budget or use of choice 1k, or 200 may get you a few players but not many on what you might want.
