So, I have a very simple question about the rules that were in use before post approval got removed, like 5 of my posts including like 30 of my replies have been taken down by dev forum staff, and I admit that I was the one that made the mistake but I am wondering that if we were still using the normal leveling up system and everything was normal, would I potentially be leveled up to a regular?
Considering that I went through post approval more than 5 times (not really, just pretend)
Note: All of my flags have been mild feedback, nothing bad like suspension or anything
But if we still had post approval and everything, would I be promoted? And can members that get flags get a fresh start?
If it’s just feedback and not a crazy amount within a short period of time, and assuming you actually earned the Post Approved badge, then yes you probably would have.
According to the description of the extend-tl2-requirements plugin the default (thx thomas) max amount of flags against you that can be approved is 10. This could prevent automatic promotion, but you still would have had a chance since devrel also promotes users manually
“Every day is an opportunity to have a fresh start. It doesn’t matter what happened yesterday; all that counts is today. When you wake up in the morning know that today is full of opportunities waiting to be grabbed. It is a new day, a new start. The beginning of a new life awaits you” ~ unknown
Note that any numerical limits listed in the default of the plugin are intentionally arbitrary and do not reflect whatever DevRel actually has it set to.
Why is there a max number of flags? It doesn’t make any sense. When everyone starts out, they might go above that limit. Will this max flags system be in the new PA scheme?
I didn’t design the scheme and I’m not involved with devforum levels going forward – don’t ask me. I was contracted to implement (some of) the plugins for the forum previously, that’s all.
