Questions about a theme or topic

Hello, recently I seen an article about Roblox that prompted to do a catolog search. This search was related to world war 2 primarily the axis side of the war, uniforms that I know from past searching had no bad things on them. Were mostly all blank, or some deleted.

As a Second would war “geek” it now makes it hard for any Communities that liked to do mock battles etc. I personally didn’t get into that stuff but I been in a few ww2 groups in the past, but I seen videos of them playing that stuff too. While they also follow within Roblox rules but filtering bad stuff etc

I guess my biggest concern and question is, are WW2 games now not allowed on Roblox, we have call of Robloxia 5 (old but stable), Roblox ww2, and many other ww2 builds, and games. Ww2 games on roblox have been around for many years

Another thing I see an allied Us top was gone one that I used lots, so I’m very unsure about the whole situation.

I understand that there might have been users that abused this stuff etc but there also are true ww2 history 'geeks" that like WW2 history. And like playing WW2 stuff.

Not only them but developers that have made ww2 games or are working on them.
I personally have an idea for one, and actually started back in 2014 to build maps, now at that time it was going to be based off of an old ww2 PC fps. I made uniforms using ones from the catolog and more recent years made a few ww2 guns.

However I stopped working on it, and with the new copy right rules I decided even though I want to do that specific game that I’d take the maps I have and make more and turn it into a different WW2 game. Of course I’d then at that time create my own clothing (all filtered etc of course).

But now with this I am unsure and honestly disappointed. As bad as the event was, it is history and I feel history needs to be taught to younger generations and keep honor to the people who faught for our freedom.

Ww2 games are obviously not a true way to teach it’s a game, and there are people who like WW2 games.

Sorry this is long but I want opinions and info because I do like WW2 history quite a lot and I don’t want to make a game in the future and find out I can’t. Like I said I have an idea, and when I think of it it seems fun. Kinda like battlefield but not if that makes sense. That won’t happen anytime soon because I need to learn scripting first.

Thanks for your time

Also, please if anyone thinks my post/question isn’t right etc, please don’t flag, instead let me know first and I’ll change it etc.
Thanks

ok so to start this reply off, I also really enjoy learning about ww2 history it’s a fascinating event just sad to have caused that much pain, also with the rest of the post it’s mainly my thoughts on the matter so, please don’t get too offended.

Ok so firstly if Roblox started deleting the items it’s probably because of what happened in the event since millions of soldiers and innocents died due to the war it wouldn’t make much sense for anything about the event to be on a website targeted towards younger audiences.

Secondly, people could be slowing down on making these games because of like I said before the nature of the event, the war take millions of lives and not just soldiers but also innocents and the survivors were traumatized for the rest of their lives so it would be hard to make a game which is meant to be fun about an event which caused all participants to have PTSD, while this reason is unlikely another reason is that games are hard to make and putting resources into something that Roblox could take down for extreme violence just really isn’t worth it in the grand scheme of things.

Thirdly, while the last paragraph was more of if they were slowing down on being made but there are a ridiculous amount of groups just devoting their lives to making games and groups around this war so I wouldn’t call the genre dead or dying just yet.

Ok, so I hope you got something useful from this post, sincerely funkmeist123

I know that recently a news company found many alt-right and facist users on roblox - some actively recruiting for pro-white gangs.

They may have cracked down on WW2 German uniforms to prevent troll users or other users from breaking the rules.

Yeah that is what the article was about, but of course this one was a bit dramatic in their choice of words etc. Even though there might have been those types of groups and people, it still doesn’t mean the WW2 history Community as a whole have bad intentions when playing as the axis side and dressing up etc. People do it all the time in real reenactments, I seen one person say in a video “someone has to be the axis side for these things otherwise it won’t happen”.

Well what you said could be true, I don’t really see much new games being made that is based on ww2, of course I haven’t really looked for the last 2 years. I did come across a game that is development called Ww1, I didn’t get to go on to see what it was like but I’m in their discord server.

At RDC it was mentioned that they want to bring more mature content for more older players, I forget what video it’s in. If Roblox was trying to get rid of violent games, wouldn’t Phantom Forces be one or some of the other fps games that was popular for a while like Operation Scorpion.

While Roblox is more popular with kids, there still are a lot of older teens and even adults that play. I remember a year or more ago reading on twitter or somewhere about Developers feel limited to making games that are good for kids, and that there needs to be games for older to play.
How I view it is, Roblox is a game development platform that allows people to be creative etc, people should be able to make whatever game they want be it ww2 fps any type of fps etc, or whatever comes to mind, that’s is mostly is the case but with some types like ww2 for example, it’s being filtered it seems. (Of course there are a few limitations that are common sense)

Of course you don’t want games to be too violent but if it’s like Phantom Forces, I don’t feel it is that violent. Along with a few others

But it’s also on the Parents to tell their child to not play this or that etc, Roblox is a big growing platform there is room for both young and older players.
