Questions that dont fit any categories

Hello. I was thinking about asking a question about Premium on here but there seems to be no topic that anyone can just ask random questions.

My idea for this is to make a new topic area that anyone can just ask random questions. For example, This is actually my question I was going to ask"When I cancel premium, does it add additional days to prevent abuse?"

Any Misc. questions can be made here.

Lounge exists and has a Roblox Discussion subforum but is only available for Regulars. Off Topic is a terrible subforum and should be deleted, anything posted there should exist only on Discord or better yet not at all. Roblox Discussion is a good subforum and should be opened up to Members with no post approval process. An easy solution would be to give Regular or only Top Contributor users increased flagging power there.

At the very least it’s long overdue to make Roblox Discussion at least readable for Members.

Plenty has been posted there by Regulars under the impression that it was meant to be private. Opening up those topics for everyone to see would be a major invasion of privacy. Also,

Top Contributor isn’t supposed to mean anything, it’s just a fancy flair. I don’t really like the idea of giving us extra power anywhere.

If a question doesn’t fit in any of the categories, it probably doesn’t belong on the forum since this is a forum for developers, not players.

For your question, you would probably post in #lounge, which is not visible to Members. We do not have a catch-all category currently for Studio usage support / Roblox usage support / other miscellaneous questions because it would encourage lazy people to miscategorize their topics instead of using the designated support categories, and would become a huge mess immediately. Just look at how many people reflexively use #help-and-feedback:game-design-support for all of their questions, not just questions pertaining to game design.

Regular is not some special club full of elite users, it’s just people who visit often enough to get a special role. Nobody is posting anything secret there.

Because you’re viewing this from the traditional binary that the Developer Forum operates under, where you are either under Roblox’s direction as Post Approval or Community Sage or have no moderating ability. I’m viewing this from the point of view of other sites like Stack Exchange, where many normal users contribute to maintaining quality.

Regular is a role meant to identify you as a user capable of using restricted categories correctly (e.g. Platform Feedback). It lets you post there without handholding through Post Approval.

Whether or not a bad thread stays up for an hour matters for Platform Feedback but would not for Roblox Discussion. The only way to scale moderation of the forum will be entrusting more users with minor moderating power.

How would I know what rank I am because I cant find what rank I am. Also what rank do I have to be to be able to use #lounge

Just go to your profile, click on “Expand”, and your rank will be there.

Just because you view it that way doesn’t mean everyone who’s posted private information there at any point in time thinks the same way. I don’t think it’s fair to assume everyone is completely okay with having their relatively private conversations opened up to thousands and thousands of users, especially when you can get Member in less than two hours.

What do you mean by additional days?

The day you cancel premium (whether it’s the day you originally bought it on) it will carry on until the date.

For example, if a user was to buy Premium on the 25th of May but decide to cancel on the 19th of August, it will carry on until the 25th of August as the month has already been paid for. After the 25th of Aug, Premium will officially be cancelled and removed from their account.

Because once it was due at mar 18 then when i canceled it, it was then due around i think 21

I’m not sure.

When did you buy and cancel? The months and day

Dude, no one said the regular rank is some sort of a special club. While browsing through the lounge I often times see things that are more personal then what would be shared in the more public sections. No, this is not because “the regular rank is elitist” but it is because it is more closed off and private.

Well perhaps off-topic may seem different then the other sub-forums but that doesn’t mean we need to remove it. People use this area for various of purposes which I won’t mention as it may be considered leaking.

My best guess is that it lasts 30 days instead of being based on a calendar month.

Question was answered above (use Lounge when you are a Regular).
