Quick Words Customization

Someone mentioned in our Discord that they now see the following feature:

An issue with this new “Quick Words” feature is that it’s definitely more akin to FPS / MOBA type of gameplays.
For my game (a racing game): “Attack”, “Hold This Area”, “Use ability” & “Fallback” would be pretty meaningless.

I could also see a world where a game that does not feature trading would find “trade” to be an extremely annoying message as it creates an inconsistency between what’s being offered to the player.

Expected behavior

In an ideal world, we’d be able to customize these quick words to our games by creating little messages for players to use. I also understand how bad actors could end up using this incorrectly however.

I would like it if Roblox created a list of approved Quick Words & as a developer I was able to select the 10 phrases I best think fit my game. This would allow for the best outcome for every game type.

Most likely you will be able to customize this feature through Creator Hub, because internally it uses certain ids to display pre-made messages. I would say your friend is currently in an A/B test. Expect an announcement soon.

you can see the scroll bar. theres alotttt more options. more proof of that is that the ‘Play’ text is too high which makes it ugly

How did you become aware of the internal workings of the feature?

why? whats the point of that!? itll probably release in like a week

I already have it in every game with chat that I play. I think Quick Words should have more social options too, so that it works out of the box for more games, not just what appears to be strategy games.

Yeah, Theres no way to tell annoying people to “stop” or “go away” yet

Or “Stop. Hammer time!”. That would be really cool too.

Yes they posted this a week after my post.

That said it’s sounding more like picking a list not making your own.
