Hello, over the past couple weeks, I have began receiving small, inconsistent freezes across all Roblox games that I play where the screen and character briefly freeze. These freezes usually occur for 2-4 frames, which is just a fraction of a second, but when playing games that require constant precision and movement such as EToH, this gets very annoying and makes it nearly unplayable. These spikes also occur at seemingly completely random intervals, with some happening nearly back-to-back while others are ~15 seconds apart. Upon investigation in the Microprofiler, I noticed that a spike in CPU time and GPU time occurs, with “Thread - Foreground” taking up nearly all of the frame. One of my friends is also receiving these same lagspikes, but I have not seen these specific ones described anywhere on the internet. I have already tried doing things such as disabling cameras, disabling VC, and disabling VR, but all of these changes did nothing. Any help would be appreciated, and if this could possibly be a bug that needs to be reported instead of a change that I have to make, let me know.
Well, this might actually be true after all, because I restarted my PC and did not open a single application apart from the browser to open Roblox, which I then completely killed with Task Manager, and these spikes seem to have actually gone away. So, I don’t know if my CPU (a i5-10300H @ 2.50GHz) is a potato or if Roblox is just using an absurdly high amount of CPU for some reason now. Even stranger, these spikes started just a couple weeks ago, and before this, I had no problems like this.
I have a paid antivirus that runs frequently and it has never detected anything malicious on this computer, so I kind of doubt that there’s a virus. I checked Task Manager and Roblox seems to use ~60% of my total CPU, which seems high to me but I don’t know if that’s normal or not, and that still isn’t 100% or anything.
