How does this ranking thing work on this forum?
What do you mean by “ranking”?
It is based off of post count, but it doesn’t really mean much, as it doesn’t measure the quality of one’s posts. A more accurate form of measurement would be the ratio of post count to thank yous received.
Ranking is just based off number of posts, think of it as showing how active a user it, it doesn’t mean someone is “better” than another though.
It ~= (not equal) prestige.
The admin council can change the number of posts needed to attain each rank. I’ve pondered setting them all to 1 so everyone’s a winnar. I think we may not be able to turn it off because we’d lose the employee indicator.
I wasn’t suggesting we remove the feature. I actually like the feature. I was just wondering how it worked.
