Rate my Game Idea

Hey everyone,

I’m thinking of making a game where you climb an obby tower that never ends.

  • The tower starts with 10 random levels.
  • As players get higher, more levels are added automatically.
  • It just keeps going — no end, no final floor.
  • If you fall, you go back to the bottom. (Or to a checkpoint haven’t decided yet)
  • You earn coins for climbing and can spend them on trails or effects.

The idea is to make something simple, replayable, and fun with friends.

Would you play this?

  • Let me know what you think:
  • Is this something you’d try?
  • What would make it more fun or addicting?
  • Should falling reset you all the way, or just a few levels?
  • What type of monetization should I add?

Thanks!

(Learn about floating point errors)

Its a great idea. I had a personal idea for this but as a regular obby (one of those mega fun obbies but procedurally generates new basic obstacles). It could be a good game.

I could move the map down when a new part of the obby is added

This game idea definitely has a lot of potential, whilst I’m generally not a person who does obbies I would definitely give this a try. A few things that you could do would be to add some sort of way for players to knock other players down levels. Also to combat floating point errors, you would need to implement some a system to ensure the height of the tower. never exceeds more than maybe 5k studs from 0,0,0 as an example and remove levels underneath as well. Falling shouldn’t bring you all the way back, but an idea would be to raise the stakes so the further you get, the more levels you’ll lose if you fall. In terms of monetisation, I would avoid doing what most of these obby games do and overload you with random gamepasses and developer products. I would also try to make sure the passes aren’t too overpowered, as that would defy the replayable section of the game. Perhaps you could just add some skip level dev products, or a gamepass that reduces the amount of levels you lose by 25% or something. Overall, a very exciting idea with a lot of potential. Best of luck!

You would have to move the whole map including the player.
If the map gets too big, it would become too annoying with the constant bugginess.

Like others have said, it could be tough because of bugs and stuff like that. But, with that being said, the idea is lowk tuff and could be fun to play. The only thing is that the point of playing an obby is to beat it, so unless you add a mechanic, it might feel a little pointless and boring and some point.

But definitely make it
