RbxCharacterSounds not changing sounds whatsoever?

Currently I’m attempting to remove the player’s running sound in favor of a footstep system. Only issue is that changing the running sound to no value using RbxCharacterSounds wont do anything! It still overrides it with the default.

local SOUND_DATA : { [string]: {[string]: any}} = {
	Climbing = {
		SoundId = "rbxasset://sounds/action_footsteps_plastic.mp3",
		Looped = true,
	},
	Died = {
		SoundId = "rbxasset://sounds/uuhhh.mp3",
	},
	FreeFalling = {
		SoundId = "rbxasset://sounds/action_falling.ogg",
		Looped = true,
	},
	GettingUp = {
		SoundId = "rbxasset://sounds/action_get_up.mp3",
	},
	Jumping = {
		SoundId = "rbxasset://sounds/action_jump.mp3",
	},
	Landing = {
		SoundId = "rbxasset://sounds/action_jump_land.mp3",
	},
	Running = {
		SoundId = "", -- <-- THIS SHOULD MUTE IT. IT ISN'T. ????
		Looped = true,
		Pitch = 1.85,
	},
	Splash = {
		SoundId = "rbxasset://sounds/impact_water.mp3",
	},
	Swimming = {
		SoundId = "rbxasset://sounds/action_swim.mp3",
		Looped = true,
		Pitch = 1.6,
	},
}

It’s weird because this is the only game this is occurring in. Copying and pasting an edited RbxCharacterSounds from another game that works in another, wont work in the one I want it to.
Is there a setting I’m not changing? I don’t understand why this could be happening.

There should be a Volume thing, try “Volume = 0”

What do you have SoundService.CharacterSoundsUseNewApi set to? Try default.

Already set to default. Same for the game that it works in.

Don’t see any volume things relating to running. And even then, setting them all to 0 still doesn’t change anything.

sorry? he meant add another field to the table so it looks like this:

	Running = {
		SoundId = [paste the id that was here before]
		Looped = true,
		Pitch = 1.85,
        Volume = 0
	},

Tried this, still not working. It’s like its being overrided.

The Script seems to be overridden by default when running the game, although I’m pretty sure there is a way to modify Roblox’s default scripts. The solution I found was to modify the Audio instance directly by using a local script in StarterCharacterScript that accesses the HumanoidRootPart and changes the ID of the Running instance or deletes it completely.

Seems like a bug which is being investigated now:

Yes but this is not how I want to go with this.
