Realistic/Fluid Tail Motion

I’m going to keep this short for now. Let’s say you have a lizard, or some other creature with a tail, maybe even underwater like a fish. When you animate it, it may look fluid and nice, but anytime said creature turns, the animation dosent adapt and it looks stiff.

Is there anyway for the tail to kinda “drag” behind the creature in question? And then slowly go back to its original idle animation after they stop turning?
(FYI, This is not for a player so client side stuff won’t work.)

I’m pretty sure its through inverse kinematics of some kind, but I have no clue how to use this on a tail that’s made up of around 10 to 15-ish parts.

Try body movers and body forces and see how that works out

Pls tell me if you are still having trouble
