The m.roblox.com site is a bit outdated, and it is missing features that can easily be added.
I have a few ideas on how to make it better:
If the site could introduce a flat material design instead of its current slightly gradient design (idk what it’s actually called)
If the site could introduce trading. Trading is a big downside on the site, as in order to view trades you have to go onto the full site and view them, often times the trade is difficult to view. It can easily be shrunken down and Incorporated into the mobile site.
The forums aren’t accessible through m.roblox.com either, which is another big downside. The dev forums are perfectly suited for my Galaxy S5, so I’m sure that the Roblox forums could be the same.
The group section is in need of a redesign. Firstly, you cannot view ranks in depth, which makes it practically impossible to manage your group on the site, as you aren’t able to rank up members, change the group bio, etc.
I understand that the m.roblox.com site isn’t supposed to be the main site, but introducing these features which are very possible to do, will make the site much more accessible!
The point of the redesign of the main website was to deprecate the mobile website. That’s as much as I know. All of the new pages scale down perfectly for mobile use and the special website shows no purpose anymore.
I often use the mobile site because it seems much faster to load for me. I find the main site more ‘bulky’, and not as slimmed down as the mobile site, so I find the mobile site much more accessible.
Even when you type roblox.com into the browser you are redirected to m.roblox.com, or asked to view the Roblox app.
The main site is more bulky because it has all the features. I was just quoting what ROBLOX has said before. If you look at the ROBLOX Mobile app, you’ll see they have almost completely removed references to m.roblox.com.
When you go to roblox.com on a mobile device, it redirects you because that’s how it’s always been and they probably haven’t gotten around to changing the behavior.
I think the mobile one loads faster due to the absence of ads.
But yeah, things as group pages are hard to use on mobile (on the main site) tbh (group admin, checking the wall of a few groups, but I guess a rework of that is in the make…)
We are trying to reduce the need for m.roblox.com, and making all of our web pages responsive instead. I’m pretty sure we won’t be doing a redesign. Re: groups, we’re going to do a complete redesign and we’ll make sure the new design is responsive.
