Redupe v1.0 Studio Plugin - Create arrays of duplicates by dragging

Thank you!

I do have it. But i don’t think we should fill this devforum up with our communication, which is like 1 msg/8hours or something. Maybe we should communicate on Discord, but also we have to watch out for timezones. What do you think?

Redupe Updates for January 15th

  • Fixed joint behaviors. The plugin now creates auto joints when Join Surfaces is enabled if you’re a maniac that works with that turned on, and no longer chokes on existing models / places with joints in them.

  • Auto ResizeAlign now supports rounded joins on Cylinders and avoids joining spheres / other objects that don’t have a sensible join. It also correctly joins the last joint when forming a full circle of objects:

  • Overhauled the resize behavior for Models. Resizing models now uses a custom “Extrude” behavior which “stretches” the model at a line crossing through the pivot while moving parts on either side of it. This is probably the best default behavior for resizing models because it allows convenient resize of modular building assets like doors / windows / columns:

Hi, I’m still having some issues with this.

Add some funny wall in between each tunnel segment, and some reason only works with the 1st 3 segments.
Might need like a UseWedgeParts setting for size align?

Output

tunnel.rbxm (9.2 KB)

Amazing plugin!! Will mesh support be added in the future? As when I try to array meshes it breaks the plugin

Just realized you’ve made a post saying this will be resolved next update haha. Good luck! And thanks for such an amazing plugin

Same issue for me, stravant could have a fix for it but i’m thinking he has it only for my specific situation unless he’s trying to fix like every issue relating to wedge heights.

I could get rid of the error by just removing it but I’m trying to find a better solution that gets at the root cause.

Would a setting to disable wedges work? Even if it was a temporary fix?

Great good job..

I’m make a rollercoaster track, has problem:

track is cut off.
You need add Extend Into. look like build a rollercoaster track.

This is an awesome plug in however when twisting any object or setting an offset. The segments have gaps ( A banked corner of a road ) probably not the fault of the plugin but a sort of “Bridge Parts” feature would be a great idea to fill gaps. ( I AM AWARE OF GAP FILL )

also I tend to get an error when making some small adjustments

Hello, when i found out about this i was super stoked, cuz it would make making rail curves and banking really easy and fast. However as you can see in the photo the sharpest curve is the only that didn´t return an error message and you can probably see why that is a problem as it is probably for the best to make the rails smooth and i cannot do that currently. Is there something i am doing wrong? Can this be fixed somehow?

This bug MIGHT get fixed in the next update, but i’m not sure.

The non-negative error should now be resolved if you pull the latest update.

For the use case there you can just disable ResizeAlign entirely. If you’re using a very shallow angle like that ResizeAligning doesn’t accomplish much that simply using the Outer Join on the bend does already.

Though I’ll try to get something in that recognizes when a given mesh isn’t amenable to wedge filling.

Redupe Update for 1/17

Changelog

  • Non-negative wedge size error should now be resolved. There were two different ways this could be triggered: Using a very small angle, or making a very large copy count. Both have been fixed.

  • Shrink checkbox size in the UI by 2 pixels. The checkboxes were a bit oversized considering they already have a very large hit target with you being able to click the label to toggle them as well as the checkbox itself.

  • A gigantic yellow blob was shown when trying to scale something down too small. This now displays correctly as a normal sized selection box.

  • Refine the cutoff time logic when placing a very large number of copies. Now has a different time limit for previewing (0.3 seconds) vs the final placement (2 seconds) because it’s okay if it freezes momentarily after the final button press when placing a large number of copies.

  • Avoid creating zero thickness parts when extruding copies of a model to be significantly smaller than the model started. Do this by removing parts whose size reaches zero in at least one dimension.

TODO

Still looking for a solution to bending a road up and to the side without introducing banking. Making a general solution for this without limiting what the tool can do in other scenarios turns out to be fairly tricky.

Yess!! Finally negative wedge heights won’t haunt us anymore!

Its model. Track

Rollercoaster

Could you share the model in question, I tried making what seems like a similar track section and it worked as expected.

It is one single mesh or something? The rails need to be separately resizable parts.
