Regaining Health in my 3D Platformer | PB & Jay

Hi, I’d like to know people’s thoughts on how players should regain health in my game. I have my own thoughts, but there could be something I haven’t considered. Or, an idea I’m having that isn’t as great as I’m thinking.

Here’s a list in order of my liking:

  • Ramming into a smaller animal/critter, like in the Spyro Trilogy
  • When touching a checkpoint, like in Super Mario Odyssey
  • A ‘heart’ collectible, like in Super Mario Odyssey
  • A ‘food’ collectible item, like in Ty the Tasmanian Tiger
  • Collecting a coin, like in Super Mario Sunshine
