Regarding splitting a skinned mesh character

Hi, I tried to import a skinned mesh character model but noticed it was over the triangle limit. I was wondering if I could split it into multiple pieces and rig them in Roblox.

I know that .fbx files can import several meshes, but how would I make it so that they are imported together in the correct places? Is something like this even possible? Would splitting the mesh make it have bugs?

I also rig my characters in Blender, so I was wondering if it would be possible to rig it in Roblox instead, and have it still be a skinned mesh. Thanks!
