Remove or restrict enforcement bans to severe instances

As a developer, I am constantly fearing that I will get enforcement banned for one simple mistake I have made.

Enforcement Ban System Wrongly Terminating Innocent Accounts - Bug Reports / Roblox Application and Website Bugs - Developer Forum | Roblox
22 of my accounts falsely terminated - Help and Feedback / Platform Usage Support - Developer Forum | Roblox

Here is some examples. I can’t even use the account switcher without being paranoid.

Now, here’s my suggestion:
If a player gets their account deleted, it will not immediately enforcement ban them.
Rather, if they do it 3 times, it will.

Bypassing bans should not cause deletion, but a 7-day waiting period.
It’s also good to apply enforcement bans based on hardware ID, as people have been getting banned for other people in their household.
I have my sister, and she got banned on one of her older accounts.
If she still had that device in the house with the current system, all of my accounts would be wiped.

Optionally, you can also change your support form source. I’m pretty sure it’s outsourced to another country right now, and it isn’t great. It takes forever for people to appeal.

Thank you!

This could possibly be very bad, as if someone knows they’re account will be deleted in a few days, they will just cayse havoc on robloxes servers, as whatever they do theyre getting banned.

When I was younger me and my sister would share a computer to play Roblox. There is truly no perfect system for enforcement bans so they should be done away with entirely or at least made no longer IP-based.

They’re already causing havoc. What difference does it make?

Yes but they would do less if this didnt happen.

Bots should never be given the red button, at most it should flag an account and restrict some account features, until a human reviews it, or it should just expire after a few days.

Regardless, banning someone off an IP alone is ineffective, most IPv4 IPs are dynamic which means if you get birthday problemed with a banned IP, whoops bye bye account, despite not knowing anything about the account.

Also stop using roblox with VPNs, you get worse bandwidth anyway.

Can confirm, this is still an issue as of today. This issue hasn’t been addressed by the staff at all.

Speaking of “constantly fearing”, how about my case as a good example. I’ve just been going along merrily minding my own business. I’m an adult and have no reason to misbehave. I joined Roblox in 2010, and have used the same account since 2011. I just got banned yesterday for 7 days for an american flag decal I uploaded that got flagged for terrorism for some reason. By the way, that decal is also 10 years old. Absurd? Understatement. How can anybody comfortably use this platform with stuff like that hanging over their heads? The big red button could come any time, from anywhere, for any reason, or no reason at all. At least I can still use the forum because bans for this are separate.

Roblox needs to fix their moderation and appeals system ASAP, and stop falsely enforcement banning players, especially in cases where a player was using a public wifi network when another player (that has no ties to the enforcement banned player) was banned on the same network, a player’s sibling’s account that shares a linked email with the enforcement banned player is banned, etc.

I’ve only remained with the paranoia in the end, not only that i received an Enforcement Ban within the linked accounts but were also stacked with ‘Copyrights of an Adiddas shirt’ The point is - The name of the shirt was named as that, yet it hasn’t the symbol of the brand within the piece of clothing that were made (unironically).

In the end i was terminated for that shirt and it stacked on the account the Enforcement Ban - and that lead to the rest of accounts linked to be terminated on sight.

I have wrote emails and in the end, no luck. I lost everything and the account it-self.
I felt in a way that I will get banned, as a strange feeling.

Another problem is that it is an abysmal process to even appeal enforcement bans.

I just figured out the reason for my enforcement ban (sammikyu) was because of my account being compromised back in June of 2022, which support has changed the account back to my email, restored my limiteds, and even took note of the unauthorized charges on my account, so they can’t be disputed.

This is the second time I got terminated for the same problem, and I am pretty sure it is because of the ban stacking on all accounts associated with that user. There really should be somebody on the other end because it feels nearly impossible to appeal through support.

The only way is through an MIDR (or equivalent), but even so, why should I spend money to send one more than once just for support? Even if I am supposedly unbanned, I will just get terminated a month or two later, all because the root of the issue is not fixed.

If you are curious how I figured out it was through an account compromised, I had somebody message me who got terminated twice at the same exact time as me, and was compromised by the same person back in June of 2022. We then went through only mutual terminated connections by that person, which then had us find the account linked to both of us.

Can Roblox at least put a note that this data associated with the account is from an account compromise?

I say a better option, player patterns, what games do they play, are they friends with each other, are they friends with the same different person, do they play games together a lot, does one account play a game only when the other account is on or off, are the usernames similar, are the emails, phone numbers, the same, is the age range the same, ETC. doing that would fix it 99.4801096049087466020584052764419591468937261311442663243386884243455439969515790823448010011586577503% of chunks(yes i went on a python coding sidequest to generate that number lolz)
