This report is being filed to establish an official channel for addressing the issue of near-identical face duplicates in the Roblox catalog, as recommended by engineering teams. The goal is to support moderation and engineering in tracking the scope of this problem, monitor trends related to the upload or re-upload of these items, and ensure appropriate action is taken on assets that clearly breach Roblox’s Marketplace Policy.
I will continue to update this thread with batches of faces that are either exact replicas of Roblox’s Limiteds or Dynamic Heads, or only slightly modified versions that bypass the current validation system. The standard Report Abuse tool has proven ineffective for addressing this issue. Even when reports are properly submitted, many items remain online, and there is inconsistency in how moderation handles these cases—some duplicate heads are taken down promptly, while others linger for weeks or even months.
You’re right, but that’s when it is within artistic boundaries. Faces I’ve reported are directly influenced by the original Roblox has created. There’s a difference between faces like this and faces that are a direct copy.
You didn’t seem to understand correctly, they can’t moderate them, even if its a One on One copy of the roblox made version, moderation still cannot take these down.
Please submit these lists under my original report:
That thread is being actively reviewed by engineers on a weekly basis, so creating multiple threads for the same issue isn’t necessary.
Regarding the Epic Face copies, moderation has refused to delete manually reported ones for questionable reasons, even though many of them are still being removed every few days through “Report Abuse”. This inconsistency has been completely ignored by the engineer, likely because my thread was flooded with supportive replies for the new policy from users who profit from these faces. It would be helpful if you shared your thoughts on this in the above thread as well, since this one will likely be closed as a duplicate.
And just FYI, these were deleted through normal user reports.
I would of submitted these under your original report, but I’ve seen what happened with your last thread and they only seemed to delete the original posts items, and alot of the secondary items reported were either ignored or never followed up upon. Also; This thread is mostly for near identical, faces not just pixels modified.
Hopefully moderation can understand within this thread what the difference is between using Epic Face as a creative idea for a face between an exact copy that does nothing but attempt to sell a knockoff version of the Epic Face item.
Thank you, it seems the moderation team behind user reports understands this problem to some degree.
Thank you for linking what I’ve said in my post. There’s some plausible “line” as TrainsRSwag is trying to mention, in which things that are an obvious copy of the Roblox’s rendition of the Epic Face are entitled to being deleted.
What I am trying to specifically defend are items which are a version of the Epic Face which do not actually attempt to copy the item. I’ll link some examples of items which I believe were unfairly deleted, which do not share a resemblance:
If users use the design of the Epic Face in a way that is constructive and builds off the original meme, instead of trying to copy Roblox, I am all for it. Although, I don’t believe that is what is happening in the items he reported within this thread.
@TrainsRSwag@rjeeqwwda You guys might want to make your perspectives more known to engineers, because this is their stance right now thanks to the discussion that took place in my now-locked report:
