Reset Usernames Visible In "Previous Usernames" Section On Profile

If a username was moderated or reset, the old username still shows up in the “Previous Usernames” section on someone’s profile. This happens on any account with a reset username. I am using Intel(R) Pentium(R) Gold 8505, 8.0 GB and Intel(R) UHD Graphics on Version 138.0.3351.95 of Microsoft Edge.

Expected behavior

I expect moderated and reset usernames to be hidden from the “Previous Usernames” section on someone’s profile.

I’m pretty sure this is expected behavior, and it’s been this way for years

I don’t think it’s expected, especially since some moderated usernames that were reset have been extremely inappropriate.

This would help, especially in use cases where I’ll report someone’s user for being inappropriate, yet they’ll appeal and it’ll stick in their previous usernames (despite being extremely horrendous.) Not sure why this isn’t implemented already, it may have broken among the years.

I also think that this may have been previously broken. I am unsure about this though.

I agree with the idea, but I don’t think this should happen for similar reasons to why we don’t have the ability to hide our past usernames otherwise (impersonation risk + silent name changing/hiding a past identity)

Not to mention, a name being reset doesn’t necessarily mean its so bad it shouldn’t be seen. There could be otherwise normal names that just gained a negative connotation over time (like my previous name I was forced to change)

If Roblox moderation reset a name, it was usually for a good reason. Reset names definitely should not show up in past usernames. Especially ones that were designed to be innapropriate.

In my opinion, it should be really a option for moderators to hide or a automatic system to hide reset usernames. For example, lets say someone got someones personal information as their username for whatever reason. You report them and the username gets reset

Good Job but nothing just happened. The username is still visible in previous usernames and a bad actor can tell people to just look at the previous usernames because moderation wouldn’t do anything. But that’s just a example, it probably isn’t always that bad

More commonly i saw usernames that got reset that were illegal. It’s probably best if those just get hidden

Thank you for your opinion, I mostly agree with this but I think this should occur for any reset username because if a username was reset it would’ve likely been for a valid reason.

If a user has a terribly inappropriate username and you report it via certain avenues, it’ll be reset, and the inappropriate content will REMAIN on the website in their “past usernames” section. This is an extreme safety concern and a single line of code would prevent these usernames from showing here.

Engineers were made aware of this in a similar bug report a few months ago but decided to take no action.

I couldn’t find any similiar bug reports anywhere. I did search the DevForum.

Usernames in the previous username section can now be censored. I am marking this as resolved.
