Responsibility for RBXDev

We need to take responsibility for RBXDev.

Despite the admins best efforts, many other users and myself are beginning to feel as though this forum is decreasing in quality. The problem is in my opinion, that we’re all very strong minded individuals and often this causes us to argue that our point is the most valid. The admins can’t focus on this forum since this is secondary to their main job and we’re lucky to have any available to us at all. Therefore we as players are the ones who truly control what happens on this forum.

Here is what I am asking; since we are all such strong minded individuals, I’d like to think that makes us all mature. Therefore we should be taking ownership for our actions and making our own rules to ensure the sustained development of this forum. Admins are here as a guideline, but they’re not our parents. We are all adults, we need to make our own decisions. Being a ROBLOX developer is a job and this means all users of the forum are metaphorically speaking employees. In a work based environment, if one employee is causing the others not to function well as a team they would be out immediately. There would be no bitching about them, they’d just be gone. We need to pull together and create a forum that’s not elitist, where we have peace.

If this fails to work, then I suggest that the staff seriously look into getting player moderators from around the world who can delete posts individually, and make temporary bans if needs be.

Heed my warning, if you can’t come together and just accept your differences then this forum is only going to continue to go further downhill. Let’s stop it early.

Rules for this thread: No personal attacks, no naming names, no making hints about other people, no linking to possibly suggestive threads.

All replies in continuous pros.

I agree with this so much. I’m tired of seeing everyone bash each-other or think they’re better than everyone else.

This is just a suggestion but if we really do need player moderators, the first one to get it should be this guy he has a lot of moderation experience.

I don’t see how this should be a rule. Yes, it could cause problems at times, but it is sometimes really great to have a reference. Wouldn’t something like no linking to sensitive threads be better?

I tried to tackle this problem a couple months ago and I found that not everyone has the same definition of downhill. Everyone wants RBXDev to be something different, from a serious development forum to a silly playground, and everything in between. Your “downhill” could very easily be someone else’s “perfect uphill”.

There’s no concrete solution to this since the problem itself is very abstract, but the admins could start by very clearly defining what RBXDev is supposed to be.

@ArceusInator. What i have understood this forum was mostly about was giving feedback on what’s good, what can be improved, discussions, give ideas. Help each other out, and many more reasons

I wish this place was actually serious (removing da lounge??) but lately ive been shitposting and still getting thank yous as if im contributing so whos the real problems here??? :X :X :X :X

That’s 1+ thank you for you sir.

Also I’ve always wondered what this place would be like without lounge, and who would hang around

Perhaps we could cut down on some unnecessary threads, for starters? Things that don’t spark productive discussion.

@CyberDennis. I think your going the way of “the longer you stay, the more forum topics you can acess” or something like that?

No. I’m saying that spammy threads should be cut down, especially in the lounge.
Or yeah, remove the lounge altogether is another way to go, but that would be if things get awful.

I’ve lived to taught here, the lounge is my home :frowning:

I can’t help but think that’s the kind of posting the people here don’t like seeing. The proper response would be to first concede that there are some problems with the lounge, and then supply an argument for why you think it’s actually beneficial to the forum.

“Chill with developers” :swag:

Also, it wasn’t really a joke that’s how I feel…need to lighten up a bit. The lounge is where I’m most comfortable for personal reasons

Don’t get too comfortable. Some people here like seeing more constructive posts, and I totally agree with Blox31.
There is a time for jokes and a time for being serious here. Keep it balanced.

I’m not opposed to it, they seem like fair rules - I just hadn’t noticed it getting all that bad, guess I just live in a happy place in my mind

I think the Lounge is a good place to chill, but everybody should make sure that posts outside of it are suitable and actually add to the discussion.

I also want fair rules, no one to be treated like higher class how it currently is. Which really annoys and bugs me

And I’m sorry I tried to make you smile again, once again I’ve been put down.

Like I said, there are times to be funny and times to be serious. I appreciate your attempt at humor, but sometimes it becomes a little much.

In my opinion the forums have just gotten really boring. I now just really look at the update section, and topics I last replied in, nothing to do other then that.
