Retrieving platform exclusive avatar items?

Hi,

Does anyone know how to retrieve Xbox/iOS/Google Play/Amazon exclusive items using the new Catalog API? My understanding is these search endpoints only show items available on your current platform. Previously I used a trick where passing in a specific search term would bypass this but that has been patched.

Thanks,
Seranok

Here is a hacky but possible way:

You could get the response of the JSON, take the description, and use Lua to see if it contains keywords, such as “Xbox”, or “Android”. To my knowledge, all platform related gears have the name of the platform in the description.

As I said, hacky, but it might be your only option. :man_shrugging:

As @FxllenCode said, usually the items have like Xbox in the name or description. Before the green hood was free for everyone it was google play only and it said you needed google play

I can already tell if a given item is an exclusive by checking the itemStatus field in the response. The problem is that a search with no keywords will omit such items by default, so how do I even find these items to begin with? I tried a keyword of “xbox” or “exclusive” and neither of them yielded the items.

Ah, good point, I totally overlooked itemStatus. My guess is it’s impossible to search for this without a keyword, as the point of keeping these exclusive is so they aren’t just easily found. An example use case would be helpful, because if you really had to, you could, (and admittedly inefficient,) but you could loop through catalog IDs, and then send the request and check/log via response if the item is platform exclusive. As I said, not at all effective, but might be the only way.
