Prior to the dynamic pricing update, there were many accessories from the Roblox account prices 5-20 robux. After this change, Roblox raised ALL accessories to these new dynamic floors, even their own items which historically were exempt from these price floors. This has made some basic items ridiculously expensive and not worth using over the free items available.
The Crimson Shaggy 2.0 is at the moment 30x the original price which is quite frankly ridiculous. This change does nothing but harm the user experience and make a bunch of older items just not worth owning anymore
Oh my bad, I thought it meant that the owners would not value the item anymore
But still, 60 Robux is pretty small, even for today, where users have more options to gain Robux somehow, especially for an item that can be bought once unless someone trolls their account
I think it’s better for the currency to be directed toward UGC, no?
If Roblox returned those cheap items to the original prices then buying these old Roblox made items won’t impact your ability to buy a UGC item like it would if they costed the same
What does this mean??? How would my ability to buy UGC be impacted if they cost the same? I just think that an equally priced alternative to the Shaggy 2.0 would incentivize users to maybe consider that alternative item, and thus promote UGC sales..?
Imagine you bought 100 robux. You can buy one 60 robux hair item so if they both cost the same its either one of the other. If the items returned to their original prices, this wouldn’t be an issue and both parties get the sale
Though I do think that it’s an assumption to think that the user would want to buy both items, and another assumption to assume that they’d want to buy the classic item first when it’s equally priced to UGC
I am going to make an assumption that some users would want one hair accessory and go on with their day, some ending up with the classic item that costs less
I also think that this 60 + 60 > 100 (or 80) forces users to buy or obtain more Robux if they want to purchase both of the new items, so it’d benefit Roblox to keep the price up
From what I’ve seen, Roblox is trying to, in a way, phase out more classic items (as seen with layered clothing & PBR texture introduction) and bring in more advanced items.
To bring in this change, they naturally have to make these classic items more expensive, so that players (more than often) pick the more advanced items.
As sad as it is, I don’t see them returning this. To be fair, 2 Robux was way too cheap (for reference this is about $0.0076 USD DevEx rates).
Honestly, this change is just stupid and I feel like roblox made items should just remain at their previous prices so that people won’t be forced into wearing free items since the price floors made robux worth less
