Reuploading My Game & Roblox Moderation

Hello reader, I am here seeking guidance! Here’s the situation: My game was banned for “Suicide and Self Harm” falsely.

Information and Goal

My goal is to reupload it to the platform because people liked the game and honestly, I did too.

Official Roblox Terms of Service (at the time of uploading):

How did the game get banned?

Expand

My game was based on Buckshot Roulette, which in itself DOES contain Suicide and Self Harm, however, my game is NOT Buckshot Roulette. I need to emphasize that part because the reason the Roblox Moderators who reviewed my game chose was: “Buckshot Roulette has an option for the player to harm themself”

Now, have I tried appealing: Of course and they unbanned it. So if they unbanned it why am I making this post? Because out of nowhere, no warning received either they banned it again, said my 30 days were up and they wouldn’t help me anymore

What did I do?

Expand

I made a Dev Forum post about it and contacted developer relations and after 3 months of waiting have gotten no response. So, I’m figuring, since nobody told me I couldn’t do it, shouldn’t I reupload it?

What about the gameplay?

Expand

The gameplay was similar to Buckshot Roulette but I made sure to remove any trace of intentional and or premeditated self harm in a similar fashion to how other games, such as Untitled Buckshot, do it by having the player shoot the health computer.

Note: If the player thought they were funny and changed their username or display name to “Terminal” it would change the option to say “System”

If The Player shot the Terminal and the round in the Shotgun was live, The Terminal with malfunction and zap the player, because it’s a computer. In Untitled Buckshot the “System” explodes.

“Exceptions” made by the Roblox moderation team

Expand

This section covers what Roblox Moderation considers safe content. However, I am putting spoilers on all of these.
For context my game was Moderate / 13+

a dusty trip

1.6B visits, Minimal / All Ages, Released 2/16/2024

Decaying Winter

54.7M visits, Moderate / 13+, Released 6/7/2025

Jim’s Computer

33.1M visits, Minimal / All Ages, Released 8/12/2022

Now with all this information in mind, do you believe I would be safe to reupload this game?
Due to recent moderation action, now I’m scared that because I want to reupload this my account may be in danger if I were to reupload it.

Hi

Your mistake seems that you never actually contacted the appeals team it looks like. On every violation you get the option to appeal their decision

The appeals team tells you why it violated the rules and how you can remove the suspension by removing the specific content. Or if it didn’t violate the rules at all it just gets restores. Let me know if you already did it and how it came out to be

Edit: Disregard what i said because i accidentally skipped through the unbanned part my bad. In my opinion, it should be safe to reupload it but people could see it as bypassing moderation decisions

Buuut since the new version of the game doesn’t actually violate any rules, it should be safe. However i would still try to appeal the original game by submitting a new appeal

Hope that helps!

Hi there! This is a great opinion to hear, but unfortunatley moderation in the United States only gives us 30 days so any new appeals would be instantly trashed. Also the “new” version is the same as the “old” version. No rules were ever violated!
