I thought of a little something that collaborative groups could benefit from; something I’ve called Revenue Split.
Pretty self-explanatory, if the creator of a game feels it is necessary, he can share and profit he makes from his game with any other user.
Though, it would be practical to enforce a limit of how many users a dev could add to the list, and all revenue would be divided equally across every user on the list, which includes the owner of the place. The user who is being added to the list would have to accept the dev’s revenue split first before being fully added to the list. Perhaps there should also be a requirement of how much you do make off of the game, as to prevent small amounts of Robux/Tix being divided into almost uselessly small amounts. Or to raise the limit of how many users a dev could share revenue with depending on how much they earn overall.
Yeah don’t mind the fact that the Developer Products tab is missing.
I also planned to put little Remove and Pending buttons/signs next to the names. Also ignore the fact the users are in dropdown boxes.
How would it work? Does each ticket get split to decimals at the end of the day or after each transaction? Should there be an extra tax imposed? Or should the truncated decimals from the split be enough?
I like the idea of revenue sharing, but I would much rather be able to set the percentage myself, rather than only being able to equally divide it between all people.
[strike]This isn’t a problem, as we can round the values if they don’t come out even. (see: the tax on everything sold)[/strike]
Edit: Read really quickly, reformulating a reply…
Edit2: Done.
To prevent a large loss of profit due to rounding, I would suggest putting the total payment in escrow for 3* days (just like pending sales) and releasing each amount(depending on their percent of the cut) to every person at the end of the 3* days.
[*] I would suggest testing different periods of time for the best results.
On the issue of an extra tax, I don’t see why one would be implemented.
Yeah, I don’t see why we shouldn’t be able to set a custom percentage. For some reason while writing this I had the idea that it would be unfair in some sort if it wasn’t divided equally, though it is the dev’s choice. Dividing low numbers might be a problem though.
I haven’t quite though through how rounding the numbers would work. It’s only my mock of the idea, but I suppose the feature would only allow the dev and split-ee(s) to only get a daily amount added to their account, and any decimals left at that point would be rounded down.
Giving people their share on ROBLOX makes them lose a ton (What would’ve been 30k ROBUX for them is now 21k) and doing it on Paypal can cause complications for a lot of people.

you think they would apply the marketplace fee to the shared revenue? I would think they would split the already fee’d amount, but I’m just guessing.

We have to ask ourselves why we have the current fee and if that reasoning applies to this scenario

What I mean is currently if you give someone 30k ROBUX (Which has already been taxed 30%) it’s taxed AGAIN for 30%, thus making them lose even more.

I believe he means giving Robux via selling donation shirts and such, which does have a marketplace fee.

Isn’t the marketplace fee there in the first place to simulate real-world scenarios?
Unsure what scenario this would apply to.

It would not be appropriate to place the fee on the revenue sharing because that robux has already been taxed from the original purchases of in-game transactions.
ie) 100kR$ was spent on a game.
The amount after tax is 70k, so then a team of 2 people would get 35k each (if evenly split).
Instead of the 2nd person on the team getting 35k*.7 = 24.5k
Which is how it is now if you give your team r$ through t-shirts.
A ) To dissuade “money laundering” on roblox (sharing accounts, moving accounts, botting on alts, etc)
B ) A general money sink to avoid massive inflation over time

Kinda to keep things fair.
Totally overlooked bots. ‘Suppose a [strike]Outrageous[/strike] Builders’ Club membership could be a requirement though.
Decimals are hardly an issue. Just give the extra +1 Robux/Ticket to the creator.
Also “would they tax it twice?”
No – the whole purpose of this is to avoid the second tax drainage when you pay someone else currently. If ROBLOX wants to continue charging tax the second time, they won’t be adding this. If they do add this, then there won’t be a second tax.
