Certain Roblox-uploaded assets on the catalog now have inconsistent prices. This is the case for both accessories and bundles.
When signed out, the Imperfectly Illegitimate Businessman hat costs 4995 Robux. Ignoring regional discounts which have been tested previously, this should be the price for all users.
However, when signed into my account the price suddenly jumps to
5495.
This is already strange, since regional pricing for gamepasses explicitly does not raise the price beyond the default for anyone.
When I use the Account Switcher to change to one of my alternate accounts, the price suddenly drops significantly, below the default price.
I don’t use a VPN to access Roblox, so this likely isn’t another regional pricing experiment, but it still seems like a glaring issue with the marketplace. Making item prices suddenly change by significant amounts as soon as a user logs in is a great way to ensure they don’t buy the item (if the new price is higher).
Expected behavior
Catalog item prices should not fluctuate based on whether or not the user is logged in, or which account they are logged in as.
