I have a Logitech G203 that has been having some connectivity issues as of lately, randomly “disconnecting” itself and usually connecting itself back, probably due to wear of use; on some extreme cases, I have to unplug and replug the USB connector for it from my motherboard.
Due to this, I’ve noticed that when this happens while playing, Roblox freezes for some time, it’s not much of a deal but it can really interrupt gameplay in some cases, here’s a clip I got of it happening:
I can still interact with everything else in my computer, so it’s really just the client. You can also notice it only freezes right after its connected back.
Here are my PC’s specs (if they even are the reason for it):
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1650
RAM: 16GB DDR4
Motherboard: ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0
I’m sorry that you’ve encountered this issue. It appears (given the symptoms) that one of the DirectInput functions we use to enumerate connected peripherals may be causing the freeze (IDirectInput8::EnumDevices Method | Microsoft Learn). Unfortunately, there is no immediate solution at the moment and we’re not able to fix the Windows API call, but we are working on refactoring our code to make sure it doesn’t affect gameplay that much.
well I hate to break it to you but I am still experiencing this problem till this date. Do you know wether this issue has been fixed?
for it to work and put it back to USB mode, plugging out the USB does not solve the issue but switching keyboard mode does.
I have to set my keyboard to Bluetooth mode and back every time I run roblox / roblox studio including extra test clients. Its honestly getting such a bother. I am not experiencing this issue from my laptop though
