If someone was out to DDoS their servers, they probably have way bigger problems and having the source code be entirely private won’t solve that, even if it was obfuscated and protected with the best security, all it would take is someone using the F9 console to find where the data is being sent.
But why not the public? Why not have it on the thread for BloxBiz? It would do way more for your image to have the source code be readily available so developers could see what data is being sent to your servers.
So basically you put happiness over security? You put the platform in jeopardy with numerous third party ads, that steal their player count, while you use the advertising system for your own gain? Not to mention, if you people are using this as a way to rant about moderation, I believe you seriously need to do some rework on your views, as this is not related to moderation flaws only for the security of the platform.
Wow ok, I totally support privacy and such, but I find this kinda dumb.
This just greatly limits the great opportunities developers has with advertising.
C’mon Roblox, this can be done better! :(

He doesn’t need to reveal it to the public.
I never said that he needs to, I am saying that he SHOULD. As stated before, developers should be able to audit the source of something that may be put in their game in a reasonable and easy way, not after going through submission and getting accepted for a program.
He may not need to, but how will he convince people to use his service if they don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes?
If they fix moderation it would stop third-party companies from uploading ads which in-turn improves the security of the system.
Let’s please be professional and not have an argument. This area is not for arguing on an “alleged” fraud. If you would like to continue discussing this please do PM.
Roblox doesn’t show their source code, does that mean I should be scared of what Roblox is doing behind the scenes.
I am being professional, and this is not an argument, please do not say it is such. I am asking and discussing about the availability of the source code. I should also stress that I never said anything about fraud in the first place (apart from “how is fraud in the system detected” at a earlier point).
Okay sorry. That wasn’t really meant to be directed on you, I just didn’t know where to put it. But others are certainly turning it into one.
How does this even relate to the problem of privacy? Moderation does help with security of the platform, but would you seriously need your own employees to check this rather than just completely restricting this so it wouldn’t be a problem at all?
How can you also fix a small number of moderation employees compared to a large number of community members inside a platform? The safety and security of the platform also lies down on the rules not just moderators, without proper imposition of the rules, while moderators just give out the penalty and kick out the bad actors, I believe completely outing the problems makes it more secure rather than allowing it, and making it go through moderation.
I believe you should seriously stop justifying this to go happiness over the security of the platform.
But the server files are not stored there.
Why does every thread turn into a chat room like drama discussion
All this does is make sure developers are the ones adding content to the game and not through a third party. There is nothing to argue about…
Exactly! Can we please just stop arguing! Like I said, just PM if you want to yell at people lol
All the CoreScripts (what goes into the Roblox games) are stored there. We are asking the same of Bloxbiz - to show what we will put in our games. We don’t want the server code for BloxBiz’s site.
When there should no argument about this, some people see it ruined their benefit over the security of the platform, and it’s quite upsetting to see especially for some developers.
