Roblox Error Code: 279

For the past few weeks, I’ve been trying to join games on Roblox, only to find this error.
I’ve tried numerous approaches to fix this issue, but for some reason, it keeps on persisting.

This all happened suddenly, I didn’t receive any bans or anything like that.

I’ve basically tried every single solution, but it still doesn’t work.

These are the solutions that I’ve tried:

  • Completely wiping Roblox and reinstalling again
  • Changing my IP and flushing the DNS.
  • Deleting everything related to Roblox in RegEdit.
  • Unplugging and Plugging back my Router.
  • Replugging my Ethernet properly.
  • Using another account.
  • Using another device.
  • And much more.

This problem seems to be affecting my router, because this happens to other devices and accounts connecting to the router.

I have a decent enough Wi-Fi to play Roblox, and I never really had these types of problems before, especially for so long. As a last ditch effort, I decided to use a VPN and it does seem to work. But, it’s a lot slower and just a nuisance to open it up every time. Any help regarding this error is extremely appreciated!

This might be Region-Block, try Contact Roblox’s support

and for VPN, be careful with it, you can get banned because some IPs is banned

Hold up try to connect straightly to Roblox’s Server instead of joining game,
there was issue where basically joining game would cause Roblox’s server would redirect you to not-working servers

same problem, ig servers lagging rn

Hi, thank you for your response.

I doubt it’s a region-block, since my friends can also play Roblox with no issues. Also, I tried to directly join a server, and it still gives me an error. If you do have any other tips, please let me know!

Probably, but even if so, there’s other people that are playing with no issues, so idk.

I feel like my reply might be useless considering that you said that using another device didn’t work and that you already tried wiping Roblox, but are you using some kind of bootstrapper to edit fast flags? I had the same issue and noticed that on other devices joining servers worked fine, but on the affected device just failed completely. In the end I managed to fix it by removing fast flags. (Specifically ConnectionMTUSize and RakNetMtuValue[1/2/3]InBytes)
