Thank you so much for speaking out on this! I feel like we arent fighting back hard enough and alot of developers are starting to get complacent, especially after they lowered it to 250. We need to fight until they remove this completely, and imo whoever made this update needs to be fired for potential future loss of creativity and income since this update has already pushed away so many talented developers to competitor platforms.
Also its not just 16+ players, it’s 16+ players who have purchased something from roblox recently and spent time in game, which is insanity. Then there are some clowns and smooth brains on here defending this and saying “just make a good game” or “just advertise, you need to advertise anyway” Those people are a lost cause since they are missing the entire point of why people are outraged. The point is, you shouldnt have to make your game into some stereotypical high thrill RPG game or spend thousands of robux/hundreds of USD Just to make your game available for all ages. That is ABSURD. Roblox needs to take “Powering Imagination” out their quotes. We need to fight this every step of the way.
To be honest, it is possible that they might eventually abolish the “financial deterrents” they have been talking about because the evaluation process could already stop bad actors enough.
Look bro, Roblox rejected removing age verification multiple times despite mass-protests, even banning users and nuking the lounge and even said “that is not changing” alongside other aggressive language, unlike the financial barriers and evaluation process where they introduce a refundable 1000 robux fee and even 100,000 robux for expedited review to bypass the evaluation process, and lowered the threshold to 250 player, so they might possibly lower it to 100 players next or lower the prices.
Thanks for your input on my three week old reply.
