I’m now facing a serious problem with lighting in my Roblox game that is greatly affecting the quality and performance of my work. In Roblox Studio, the lighting looks as desired, realistic, full of shadows and reflections, and representative of the “Future” lighting technology with support for full PBR. But in the live Roblox client game, the same scenes are being rendered in a soft mode, with the lightmaking soft, flat, and non-realistic looking compared to what I wanted. Materials act wrong, reflections are absent or false, and total shadows and details are lost, even though both Studio and the client employ the identical lighting tech and properties. It occurs even on top machines with max graphics turned on. It is compromising the graphical integrity of my projects and directly impacting finance, as I have spent time and effort creating high-quality, immersive builds that are broken in real-play. The discrepancy between Studio and in-game visuals generates confusion among clients and players, resulting in lost business and revenue. This problem needs to be resolved quickly so the game client properly represents what is being displayed in Studio, particularly for developers who are using advanced lighting setups and PBR materials.
