Roblox moderation and support is really icky

I am writing this for one of my friends as he doesn’t really use devforum so he cannot make a post about this.

We have been working on a game for a bit now, and as you know life for a roblox developer isn’t so easy when you’re not well known, although we’ve managed. Our game actually started getting traction, we reached a maximum of 700 CCU and it kept growing by the day, which is really nice to see. We were basically making 10k robux a day at the point this incident happened.

As everyone knows, to reach a broader audience you now need to reach 500 Highly engaged players or pay a fee of 100k robux to instantly get it checked, which is not what we did and instead we reached that goal of 500 players.

We were happy to finally be able to grow our game further, which did actually happen and that’s how we reached 700 CCU to begin with.

When we actually applied to reach that specific broader audience, ROBLOX THEMSELVES manually looked and reviewed our game, said it’s for ages 9 and up and moved on. A few days later, our game got taken down out of nowhere because of the said age rating:

Our game got taken down for its blood submission which they chose, and days later some roblox employee checked out our game, decided it’s not appropriate and gave us a feedback reasoning in broken english: “We are able to see lots of blood pool once they are shot”.

FYI, the blood in our game doesn’t even look realistic but we said “whatever sure”. Just in case, we ended up submitting an appeal in which they replied pretty quickly and said “yeah sorry this was a mistake and you didn’t actually break the rules”

Although, for some reason, they never put our game back up even after seeing that it didn’t break the rules, and we have been waiting for a whole 4 days without any response from them, even though we sent ANOTHER appeal to remind them of it.

To make things even easier for them, we even removed the blood from our game entirely for the time being, and still nothing. As of making this post, the game is still under review by roblox and it’s insanely frustrating, as our game was doing so good as small roblox developers and it made us lose out on a lot of money.

Our game is called Cold Elegy, and here’s the link to the game: https://www.roblox.com/games/123640265629349/

It’s an insanely unfortunate situation and it would be nice if they actually did something about this. We’ve gotten to the point where we’ve been considering to reupload the game just because of this. We’ve at least grown a decent enough fanbase, so the game should be fine enough when it comes back, but it’'s still real money and growth lost due to roblox moderation.

I understand how frustrating this situation must be, especially after building momentum with your experience.

That said, I’d also encourage everyone to remember that moderation decisions and appeal reviews are incredibly complex at Roblox’s scale. Millions of assets and experiences are reviewed, and while no system is perfect, the moderation and appeals teams work hard to balance creator experience with platform safety and policy consistency.

From what’s been shared here, it looks like your appeal was successful, which demonstrates that there are processes in place to correct decisions when necessary. The remaining delay is understandably frustrating, but there may be additional review or publishing steps taking place before the experience is restored.

Hopefully the team can provide an update soon. Wishing you the best, and I hope you’re back online as quickly as possible.
