Roblox starting EXTREMELY slow

Hi there, so I’ve had this problem for a while now where I can start roblox and roblox studio, but it takes sometimes even hours to start only the launcher. I am frustrated because I tried everything from reinstalling roblox to downloading the visual c++ redistributable. My connection is not the problem either because I am talking with my friends without any lag, or I am on websites without any lag. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What are your PC’s specifications (CPU, RAM, Hard Drive, etc.)?

CPU Type QuadCore Intel Core i7-2600K, 3600 MHz (36 x 100)
Motherboard Asus P8H67-V
RAM 4x 4GB DDR3 SDRAM (16GB RAM)

Drive Drive Type File System Total Size Used Space Free Space
C: Local Disk NTFS 476??? MB 314??? MB 162??? MB
D: (Don’t Delete) Local Disk NTFS 578 MB 464 MB 114 MB
E: (Code) Local Disk NTFS 248888 MB 151890 MB 96997 MB
F: Local Disk NTFS 703866 MB 703866 MB 0 MB

Total Size approx. 1429 GB = approx. 1.4 TB

Drive #1 - Dogfish SSD 512 GB [476 GB] C:

I hope that’s enough information.

Judging from my intermediate knowledge of low-end PCs, I assume that your culprit is your DDR3 memory. You ideally want your memory to be as fast as your CPU, so it doesn’t have to idle waiting for your memory to catch up.
It may also be a slow drive, but that depends on where you’ve stored your installation of Studio. It should be in the System Drive (C:) for most cases, which is (in your case) an SSD.

I should probably also mention that everything else boots up instantly. Even FiveM (GTA), so I don’t really believe it has to do something with my specs.

That’s pretty odd. May want to see if something is potentially hooking onto your Studio process. Not much I can do past this though, I apologise.

And how would I do that? (thirtycharacterlimit)

I don’t think there’s a way, but it’s unlikely.

Did this problem start happening in October of 2022? If so, I might know what update caused it.

Yea, somewhere around that time it happened.

Around that time, they fixed a bug that made G-Sync really laggy on studio. Setting G-Sync to Fullscreen fixed the issue before that fix was implemented.

And how would I go to fix that? It’s occurring again.

Roblox itself is starting extremely slow, even the download. I have to wait for like 20 minutes for roblox to even pop up with the message “Connecting to roblox…”

Sounds like a different problem. You can disable or change G-Sync to Fullscreen in the NVidia Control Panel.

Does this work for other graphic cards manufacturers too?

Yes, I believe there’s another one for VSync. However, the majority of other GPUs are not affected if they aren’t NVidia GPUs.
