Small Dev Here – Getting Moderation With No Specific Reason and 3-Day Replies

I’m posting this out of frustration and also hoping someone here has dealt with the same thing.

I’m a small developer and my experience only has around ~1,000 visits . It’s not a big game at all, and I’m not trying to push anything controversial. I even spent Robux on ads recently just to try to grow the game a bit. Right when it started getting a little momentum, moderation hit the experience.

The main problem isn’t even the moderation itself — it’s that I still don’t know what the exact violation is .

I contacted support and the responses take about 3 days each time , and the replies are extremely vague. They just say that something violates policy, but they never say what specific message, asset, or feature triggered it.

Because of that, I already went through the game and removed or filtered everything related to chat that could possibly trigger the system. As far as I can tell, there is nothing left that should violate text chat rules anymore.

But since the responses from support don’t give any specific details, I’m basically stuck guessing what the issue could be while waiting several days between every reply. For a small developer, this is really frustrating because momentum matters a lot when you’re trying to grow a new experience.

It honestly feels bad spending time building something, promoting it with ads, and then getting stuck in moderation without even knowing what exactly needs to be fixed.

So I’m wondering:

  • Has anyone else experienced moderation with no specific explanation like this?
  • Is there any way to get an actual specific violation from support instead of generic responses?
  • Is there a better way for small developers to resolve moderation issues faster?

I’m not trying to break the rules — I just want to know what exactly needs to be fixed so I can correct it and move on.

Any advice would really help.

Well to be honest, if your game just has a regular chat. Then It’s technically Roblox Filter AI responsibility, not yours. It only become your responsibility if there is a “custom chat”

For a very simple definition of this, games that include: Custom Chats, Custom Filters, Signs with Text, and etc heavily falls on you. If you fail to moderate, then you will get a violation. This has happened to numerous of games of developers that refused to take action.

As for Roblox supports…

You just have to reply and wait.. and then repeat this process. Yes It’s very frustrating but Roblox Support takes a lot of endurance (lack of better word) to get what you really want/need. If you give up upon few replies, you won’t get what you want/need.

Hope this helps

Yes, I understand and I acknowledge my mistake. However, after I removed all the content related to the issue, I updated my game and informed the ticket that it has been fixed. They replied that I still have a violation for not using TextChatService, but after my update, I am now only using Roblox’s default text chat. I don’t understand what the issue is or how to fix it, as their reply is unclear.
