It could be unfroozen by opening and closing windows start menu but the window was still unresponsive and slow.
I tried updating all my drivers, updating windows, reinstalling roblox 2-3 times.
Then i found out that the issue was when i had frame rate on roblox set less than my refresh rate on my monitor (144hz) it only then worked anything exact or above would make the window slow/unresponsive.
Expected behavior
The roblox window should be moved on the screen when its not in full screen without any stutters.
I have the same issue on my end, the window starts lagging above 60hz and freezes my OS once it exceeds my monitor’s refresh rate. The only way to unfreeze it is by switching tabs or ending the task
Same issue.
I always have to press the Window’s key to get it unstuck, unfortunately it does not fix the window dragging issue, so guess roblox is now stuck on my main screen now, eeks. (Ignore edit, xd) jk.
Hello @yalters1 ~~ thanks for the report!!
I’m looking into a few different bug reports that all appear to be pretty similar.
Would you be able to try something to help diagnose the issue for me?
Would you be able to select “Disable fullscreen optimizations” in your RobloxPlayerBeta.exe Compatibility Settings?
I found that disabling the fullscreen optimizations fixed the issue for me. Just curious if it also fixes this issue, or if maybe there’s a different root cause. Appreciate the help!!
Edit:
Doing this in combination with setting the FPS to 60 through the in-experience settings has worked for other users, and fixes the issue locally for me. Let me know if this helps too! Hopefully we can find the root cause with this info
Sorry for late reply but it did not fix the main issue of the game window freezing when having higher fps set on Roblox than the monitors refresh rate.
I already had the setting turned off and i tried to test it with it on and off but didn’t change anything.
Maybe it could be a deeper issue either on Roblox or on windows operating system.
@yalters1 Hi there~ we rolled out some changes that will partially remedy the issue by dropping the FPS during the window move & resize loop. We have also planned changes for a longer-term fix but as these changes are complicated more time will be needed. That being said, from our testing, dropping the FPS during the move & resize loop does fix the issue in the majority of cases.
I will mark the issue as Fixed for now but please let me know if you’re still having the issue.
