[RoControl] Roblox Community Management, directly from Discord
Hello Roblox community! ![]()
I’ve been working on RoControl, a Discord bot that lets you manage a Roblox community without constantly switching between Discord and Roblox.
Most communities already use Discord for staff management, applications and moderation, so I wanted the Roblox management side to be accessible from there too.
With RoControl, authorized staff can manage ranks, handle join requests, verify users and access other management tools directly from Discord.
Invite RoControl →
/config→ Connect your community → Start managing.
There’s nothing to self-host and no Roblox Studio script to install.
See RoControl in action
Before going into the details, here’s a short demonstration of an actual RoControl workflow:
Join request → Accept → Member joins → Manage member → Change rank → Roblox updates
The actions shown in the video are performed directly through Roblox Open Cloud. The Roblox side is not simulated.
Managing your community from Discord
The core of RoControl is its interactive /manage interface.
Instead of requiring staff members to remember a large number of individual commands, RoControl provides a central interface containing the information and actions available for a member.
From there, authorized staff can view the member’s Roblox information, current rank and verification state, and access tools for rank management, Discord synchronization, history, notes, warnings, and other supported actions.
Rank management is also tied directly into RoControl’s permission system. Giving someone access to the bot does not automatically give them unrestricted control over the Roblox community.
A permission system designed for real staff teams
Different communities organize their staff differently, so RoControl doesn’t force everyone into a single permission model.
Server owners can configure Owners, Administrators and Managers, while access can also be assigned to specific Discord roles or users.
Management can additionally be restricted through:
- Discord hierarchy
- Roblox hierarchy
- Maximum manageable ranks
- Maximum assignable ranks
- Protected Roblox ranks
- Owner / Administrator / Manager access levels
For example, a moderator can be allowed to manage lower-ranked members while being completely unable to modify administrators or protected ranks.
The goal is to let communities delegate management without having to give every staff member unrestricted Roblox permissions.
Join requests
RoControl can retrieve supported Roblox community join requests and display them directly inside Discord through /requests.
Staff members can see information about the Roblox account, open the user’s Roblox profile, and accept or decline the request without leaving Discord.
Once the action is performed, RoControl communicates directly with Roblox through Open Cloud and updates the request.
This means Discord acts as the management interface while Roblox remains the actual source of truth.
Actions remain traceable
Community management shouldn’t become impossible to audit just because it happens through Discord.
Important actions performed through RoControl can be recorded with information such as:
- The affected Roblox user
- The action performed
- Previous and new ranks
- The responsible staff member
- Timestamp
- Result or error information
This makes it much easier for administrators to understand what happened if a rank was changed incorrectly or a staff action needs to be reviewed.
Security
Security has been an important part of RoControl’s design.
RoControl uses Roblox Open Cloud for supported Roblox operations.
You will NEVER be asked to provide:
Your Roblox password
Your .ROBLOSECURITY cookie
Instead, each community connects RoControl using a dedicated Roblox Open Cloud API credential with the permissions required for management.
Sensitive API credentials are protected before being stored, and management actions pass through RoControl’s permission and hierarchy checks before execution.
Protected ranks and configurable management limits provide additional safeguards against staff members performing actions outside their authority.
Setup directly from Discord
I wanted RoControl to be usable by community owners without requiring them to be developers.
The entire initial configuration is therefore handled interactively through /config.
1. Connect your Roblox community
RoControl asks for the Community ID found in your Roblox community URL and validates the community.
2. Connect Roblox Open Cloud
RoControl then provides an interactive guide for connecting the community through Roblox Open Cloud.
3. Configure staff access
Once the connection is ready, the server owner can configure who is allowed to use RoControl’s management functionality.
There are no configuration files for the server owner to edit and no separate bot instance to deploy.
Add the bot, run
/config, and RoControl guides you through the rest.
Discord ↔ Roblox
RoControl isn’t intended to simply be a collection of Discord commands that happen to call Roblox APIs.
The long-term goal is to provide a complete management interface between a Discord server and its Roblox community.
The current system already brings together features such as member management, Roblox ranks, join requests, account verification, Discord synchronization, staff permissions, notes, warnings, and action history.
Users can also securely link their Discord and Roblox identities through /verify, allowing their Roblox identity to be used throughout supported RoControl features.
The idea is simple: staff should spend less time jumping between dashboards and more time actually managing their community.
Built for multiple communities
RoControl is a public multi-server bot.
Every Discord server maintains its own independent:
- Roblox community
- Open Cloud configuration
- Staff permissions
- Management hierarchy
- Protected ranks
- RoControl settings
Different communities can therefore use the same RoControl bot independently without sharing their configuration or management rules.
You don’t need to deploy a separate RoControl instance for every Roblox community.
Commands
The main public commands currently include:
/config — Configure RoControl and your Roblox community
/manage — Open the member management interface
/requests — Manage supported community join requests
/verify — Link a Discord account with a Roblox account
/me — View your linked Roblox identity
/panel — Access available management panels
/help — View available commands and information
The functionality available to each user depends on the permissions configured by the server owner.
Languages
RoControl currently supports:
English ![]()
French ![]()
The bot automatically provides its interfaces in the configured language, and additional languages may be added depending on community demand.
Where RoControl is now
RoControl is currently free to use and under active development.
The core workflow — connecting a community, configuring staff access, handling join requests, managing members, and changing Roblox ranks — is already functional.
I’m continuing to improve the interface, reliability, security, and the number of management operations available directly through Discord.
Rather than turning RoControl into a huge collection of unrelated commands, I want the project to progressively feel more like one coherent Roblox community management dashboard inside Discord.
Feedback from communities actually using the system will play an important role in deciding what comes next.
Try RoControl
RoControl is available now for communities that would like to test it.
Add RoControl:

Official Support Server:
RoControl discord server
The support server contains setup help, updates, bug reporting, feature suggestions, and assistance if you encounter an issue while connecting your community.
Feedback
RoControl is still being actively developed, so I’m looking for communities willing to try it and tell me what works, what doesn’t, and what’s missing.
If you run into a bug or have an idea for a feature, feel free to reply here or join the support server.
Thanks for checking out RoControl! ![]()
Roblox community management shouldn’t require five different tools. That’s the problem RoControl is trying to solve.
