Rules
As a staff member at Rose Petal Cafe, you are expected to follow certain rules. Be sure to read them closely as this will affect your job.
Rule 1
Treat all fellow staff and customers with utmost respect. If you are caught disrespecting anyone, you will face consequences. Depending on severity, it will be anywhere from a warning to a demotion. If you are caught continuing to disrespect people, you will be suspended from your job.
Rule 2
Act professionally. You are expected to represent Rose Petal Cafe at our facilities, so you are expected to behave appropriately. This means you must follow all our rules and regulations. Use suitable and appropriate language.
Rule 3
Dedicate time and effort to the group. We do not expect you to be active every day, but we expect to see activity from our staff. If you cannot be active for more than two days, please file an inactivity notice. Activity can be shown by being active in the Discord or in game. MR+ are required to show activity through trainings and interviews.
Rule 4
Do not hint for promotions. It will decrease your chances of getting a promotion as well as reset your cooldown. At Rose Petal Cafe, hinting shows HRs that you are not ready for a promotion yet.
Rule 5
Do not troll, exploit, spam, or be disruptive at our facilities. You are expected to behave yourself at all times. If you are caught being disruptive or otherwise misbehaving, you will be suspended or demoted.
Rule 6
Wear a professional outfit. The uniform is absolutely required. If you are caught wearing anything that is inappropriate for staff such as big wings or a troller outfit, you will be asked to change your avatar. If you fail to comply, you will be warned and kicked from the server until you comply. Failure to comply after multiple kicks will get you suspended or demoted depending on severity.
Departments
As an MR+, you are expected to join a department. Below are explanations for each department.
Staffing
Staffing handles overseeing staff. They are capable of terminations, suspensions, warnings, and demotions.
Why should I contact Staffing?
- To report misbehaving staff. This is done through tickets.
- Suspension, warning, and demotion appeals.
Human Resources
Human resources checks activity from everyone and recommends people for promotions. They will be the ones to contact a staff member if they are inactive without an inactivity notice.
Why should I contact Human Resources?
- Assistance with inactivity notices.
- Questions about promotions and ranks.
- Resignations.
Public Relations
Public relations handles alliances and events. This means that they seek out alliances, interact with current alliances, plan fun events for the community, and more.
Why should I contact Public Relations?
- Alliance requests/suggestions.
- Report allies.
- Clarification on events.
- Event suggestions.
Promotions and Demotions
How do I get promoted?
Rose Petal Cafe staff are expected to work hard for their promotions. We do not give out free ranks and instead look for staff that show activity, a good work ethic, and more.
Cooldowns
When you are promoted, you will be given a cooldown period in which you cannot be promoted. This is a 2 day cooldown period that can be extended if needed. Remember, if you are found hinting for a promotion, your cooldown will be reset and likely extended.
I haven’t been promoted in forever!?
Continue to work hard. Shifts are a good way to be noticed and possibly promoted. You may also have been nominated for a promotion but the staff team is still discussing. Remember that promotions are not only a raise in power but also in responsibilities.
I’ve attended a lot of shifts but I’ve never been promoted.
Shifts do not guarantee a promotion. A shift is meant to encourage activity at the restaurant and keep an eye out for any stunning workers. In order to be noticed, it is recommended that you use grammar, act professionally, and do not get distracted due to the shift occurring around you. Additionally, if you only hang around the shift leaders, you will not be considered for a promotion.
Why was I demoted?
You either broke a rule or were inactive. If you believe you were wrongly demoted, please contact a member of the Staffing department. They get the final say, so do not argue and instead discuss the potential mistake in a civil manner.
Resignations
While we hate seeing our staff resign, there are times when you must. If you are an LR, you are free to leave at any point in time with no consequences. However, if you are an MR+, you must DM a member of Human Resources on our communications server to resign. If you feel uncomfortable doing so, please DM an SHR team member on our communications server instead. Group wall resignations will not be counted. If you are part of the Human Resources department, please log all resignations so that they face no consequences.
Commands
Whitelisted commands
These are the only commands you may use and the situations in which you can. For further clarification, you may create a ticket to ask.
To:
Used in the case you need to go to a disruptive customer or someone during a session.
Bring:
Used if you need to bring an LR during a session. Only used if the person is: stuck, roaming, or glitching.
Kick/Ban:
Only used if someone has been warned the correct amount of times. You may only ban if they have exploited or have reached 3 or more kicks.
PM:
Used to communicate with other staff privately. Do not use this for fun.
Refresh:
Used to refresh users after a session if promoted to a new rank. You may use this to refresh yourself into a new avatar.
Respawn:
Used to remove someone from an area they should not be in. Can be used if someone is AFK or in the way deliberately.
Shutdown:
Should only be used during a training or interview at the end.
Countdown:
Only used during the picture at the end of each session.
Slock/Unslock:
Use this to lock the interview or training. You may not lock a shift server.
SM/M:
Used for communicating with the server during an interview or training. Do not use at a shift without permission.
H:
Use to make small announcements like joining the Discord, letting everyone know the start of the session, reminders to use the PTS system, ETC.
View:
Used to view users. Recommended to use to check if someone is actually misbehaving, Can be used to spectate during sessions.
Other commands are not to be used without permission by a member of the SHR team.
Inactivity Notices
Inactivity notices should be made when you plan on being gone for two days or longer. You may have up to a maximum of two weeks off and you have a cooldown of two weeks before you may use another inactivity notice. The cooldown applies unless you are having an emergency.
All reasons for inactivity notices are valid so long as they are not trolling or beyond the limit.
If you need longer than 2 weeks off, please discuss with a member of Human Resources and they will request that for you.
