Rotating R6 Torso up and down for an aiming system

  1. What do you want to achieve?
    I want to be able to play an aiming animation rather than using CFrames for the limbs for my gun script, where aiming will rotate the player in the direction of where your cursor is aiming, as the gun fires a ray from the tool itself.

I don’t want to use CFrames for the limbs as I believe animations can produce better results, but I’m not sure how I would rotate the torso to look up and down on the Y axis as the torso seems to move the entire characters limbs, the legs, arms, head. Perhaps changing the way the Motor6D’s are set up in the rig but I believe this will end up breaking every other animation.

  1. What solutions have you tried so far?
    I thought of using animations for looking up and down albeit I realized that doing so will mean the ray casting the bullet will not be true to the cursor, rather where the animation itself is facing.

Any type of help or input would be appreciated!
