Same Asset leading to several bans after false reports, even after it's restored + "Appeal denied" on "Violations"-page despite being accepted

PLEASE CHECK MY REPLIES FOR IMPORTANT UPDATES

Hello there,

I am an UGC Creator that recently uploaded classic clothing and I have run into an issue.
I started this topic originally to report other bugs in this moderation system, until a person started to falsely report my assets.

Long Description + What Happened:

I have tried to appeal for this issue several times using customer support, however, this issue is not resolved. Each time my appeal is successful it is still showing as “Denied” on the Violations & Appeals page.

EDIT: For a “green dragon UGC”-set I have uploaded classic clothes before

Someday I created a red dragon head accessory and decided it needs a matching body too.
And now, this time, I uploaded classic clothing (classic pants), which belong to my UGC “Red Dragon” Set. I basically just changed the color from green to red. After uploading, I was faced with a warning.

I figured that the moderation did a mistake here because this content is not violent. It is simply different shades of red with some black. It does not depict any blood or gore. The asset is red since it is supposed to be the body of a red dragon with some red-with-black-scales. I have uploaded the same asset in another color before for the green version of this set.

I appealed through “Violations & Appeals” and then I was faced with this:

I figured this was another mistake, there is no sexual content involved when it comes to the texture of a dragon.

Here is the picture of the full dragon set but in green, that did not get moderated:

Roblox itself does allow no modesty layers on avatars if it is an animal, and this is obviously a dragon, nothing sexual about it. Even the body aka the classic pants asset itself belongs to an animal/monster as you can see that it has claws, an unnatural skin/scale color and a few black patterns on the back.

I also noticed that the classic shirt version of this did get through moderation without any issues:
(EDIT: It has been taken down and I did not receive any warning or violation for this.)
As you can see on the avatar below, it does not include gore.

The red dragon head that is supposed to match with it is here:

I used the “Violations & Appeals” site again to appeal for my pants, and once again, it was denied.

After that, I decided to contact customer support using the Asset ID from the warning.

It seemed successful, but when I checked the “Violations & Appeals” site, I saw that the appeal was still denied.

I contacted support about my classic pants specifically and I asked about the “denied”-issue I just mentioned.

However, the issue was not resolved yet. I made a new ticket and I mentioned that the asset is still not restored. I was asked for a link of the image asset. This time I provided the link by linking the image texture, that has the ID 92515086009717, which is a different ID from the ID seen in the warning.

Since the asset ID of the classic pants is also different from the asset ID of the image texture, I also decided to contact support about the pants asset itself. (The classic pants asset ID is 97537234400289 and the image ID is 92515086009717.)
But this time I had a different response about the pants asset ID.

So, now it is against the rules of Violent Content?
I contacted support about this using the pants asset ID for the second time and got a response that was even more different.

Now it is suddenly talking about messages I have never sent. On Roblox I only talk about the games that are on it.
This is not supposed to happen.

Summary:

As of now the situation looks like this:
Pants Asset ID in warning and 1 day ban - approved by support
Pants Asset ID in image - appoved by support
Pants Asset ID as clothing - not approved despite being the same

Basically my warning went from being about “Violent Content”, to “Sexual Content”, to the Image being “approved”, the Pants Asset (that is the same as the “approved” image asset) still counting as Violent content, to then suddenly being about messages I have apparently sent that were violent.

The “Violations & Appeals” page still shows “Appeal denied” despite being approved. This is not the case with my third ban despite me using the Support Form for that one too.

EDIT: After false reports I have been banned 3 times for the same asset. First was an automatic warning, then it was restored, then a 1 day ban (“Violent Content”) after a false report, but it was restored after my appeal, then a 7 day ban for (“Sexual Content”) after a false report, then restored again, then another 1 day ban (“Violent Content”) after a false report by the same person in this thread. Please check my replies to this topic for screenshots.

Expected behavior

I expected the issue to get resolved normally without differences being made between the Image ID and the Classic Pants ID or the reasoning changing from being about “Violent” Images to “Sexual Content” to “Violent messages”.

I also expected to just be able to upload my asset without any issues, since it did not violate the TOS at all, instead of being moderated for different shades of red.

I expect the “Violations & Appeals”-page to show that my appeal has been accepted. I used the support form on all 3 Violations but only the last one turned into “Appeal accepted” on the violations page.
I expect to not be banned for the third time after I was false reported by the same person again, even after the asset was restored.

i fear the moderation action was correctly applied here because that image just looks like you’re skinning someone alive and there’s blood all over. Maybe try to make it look different so it doesn’t look like gore

i reported that image again and it got removed within seconds, so this report can be closed. That image is literally violative, and the moderators agree with me :face_vomiting::folded_hands:t2:

Hello, How else am I supposed to make red scales look like? It’s supposed to fit with my red dragon head that has the same color. You do realize that Roblox uses AI moderation, right? The moderator told me that it does not violate the TOS.
All I did was changing the green texture to red. It is not my fault if you see red scales as violent due to its color.

I have a dragon head and wings with the same exact shade of red. What am I supposed to do here? Ignore making a red version because you think red equals blood? Please learn how blood looks like.

Here is the red dragon head for reference.

Hello there,

DevForum’s Bug Reports category is not used for account-related moderation issues. To appeal content decisions, please contact Roblox Support and file an appeal under User Terms 2(f).

See here for more information on relevant Roblox policies and processes.

Hello, I have already done that if you read my post. And if you read my post, you would figure out that this is about a Bug. Apparently you did not read my reply as well. And now due to AI moderation being quite buggy and sometimes reacting this way to red colors I have to appeal the second thing you reported too. And refrain from trolling in the replies again.

As of writing this, my shirt has been removed for a reason that I was not told, however, the moderation action about my pants asset is still on my account and the pants asset is not restored either.
Pants:

Violations & Appeals:

This seems to be another bug.
I would also like to mention that the user in this thread has PM’ed me to threaten with false reports for the second time in case anything gets restored. What can I do against this?

I contacted support about my shirt again and got the following response:

As of writing this, the Violations & Appeals site is still showing “Appeal denied” about my pants
My pants asset is still not restored.

UPDATE: Both assets, the classic shirt and pants have been restored, however, the violations are still on my account. After contacting support about this I got this response:

If Roblox Support restores an asset it may still show up in your Violations & Appeals page. Don’t worry this doesn’t mean it wasn’t appealed it’s just that the Violations & Appeals page doesn’t always reflect everything.

I hope that’s the case. I’d rather make sure though since this usually did not happen to me all the other times. Thank you for your response though, calms me down a little!

I was banned again for the same pants asset that was previously restored because of the automatic detection system after I was possibily reported by the same person, and then unbanned again after I appealed using ROBLOX SUPPORT. This time it states “Appeal accepted”.

As of writing this, the pants have not been restored yet:

In total the pants led to a warning, a 1 day ban and a 7 day ban, with the 7 day ban asset ID being different from the other two moderation actions.

Hello there,

This is intended, as they need to be reinstated separately in order to become available on the website again. Therefore, you can also have the main asset restored by contacting support.

If you want confirmation from staff, take a look at this reply:

Hello,
In my post I wrote specifically that I have appealed for each asset separately, but that they were treated differently despite being the same.
Pants Asset ID in warning/ban - approved by support
Pants Asset ID in image - appoved by support
Pants Asset ID as clothing - not approved despite being the same

IMPORTANT UPDATE:
As of writing this, my assets have been restored. However, I would still like to see an explanation about the “Appeal Denied” on the “Violations & Appeals”-page from Roblox staff, since those Appeals have been accepted by support.

Hello there,

This is also intended because Roblox Support and the Violations & Appeals page function separately, so having your appeal accepted through one avenue does not automatically mark the other as approved. That is simply a separate entry to give you the opportunity to appeal.

However, if the option to appeal is available in the Appeals portal, it is not recommended to contact support, as Roblox Support may refuse to process your request when that option is available there. Plus, it’s just faster in general…

also that image got moderated again it will just keep getting deleted for violent content and gore because it shows something like a chest being split open with blood pouring out :face_vomiting::broken_heart:

Sincerely,

Hairy Fat Turkish Man

Hello, there is no chest with blood split open, I don’t know why you are saying this and harrassing me especially in my DM’s. There is nothing that looks like a split too. The texture is red scales with black scales on the back. This is not intended behaviour and it was once again banned using auto detection. I have told you that this is just a RECOLOR of another asset I made.
Why don’t you report the green version too if you think it’s violent?
Also, if the two systems function separetly, why did my appeal change to “Appeal accepted” on the Violations Page after I contacted Roblox Support using the Support Form?

How is this violent to you?
Here is the SAME asset but in GREEN:

Where is the split open chest? Where is the blood?

I was false reported again, being targeted by the same person and somehow got my THIRD ban for the SAME asset.

I mean to be entirely honest if I was a moderator looking at that template I’d probably moderate it too. I’d suggest trying to maybe make a template that looks a bit ‘less violent’.

The textures of my other 3D models look like this too. Do I just add rainbow colors around the areas that won’t be visible on the player?
A moderator should know that textures look entirely different when they are not applied to any model, and again, it’s just a red recolor of my previous green texture. If a color change of the entire texture suddenly makes something violent then something is not right.
Textures always look strange when not applied to any model, but it does not mean that they are violent, especially just because they are red.
And until now, the moderators understood that the template is simply just a texture and have restored my assets. If you don’t know how textures look when they are not applied to a 3D model, then you should not be a moderator.
The only thing that got me banned was the AI itself, not a moderator.
You can’t moderate that Asset just because you think it is violent when in reality it isn’t. In reality it’s many random different shades of red and black.
I have hundreds of people on my side that think that this treatment towards me as a creator is not right.
Moderation in the topic of violence is not supposed to be about perception, it’s supposed to be about reality.
