Sao Paulo Roblox Servers Issues

There’s no particular set of instructions to reproduce this issue, as it has to do with the connection between the newly added South American Roblox servers to the client.
After a few minutes of joining a game you’ll start to notice constant freezing from the game’s server, this includes your character but not others (you can see people moving but they won’t be able to see you moving.)
This also restricts you from interacting with UI, game mechanics and such making most Roblox games unplayable to the user.

From the following video we can appreciate the bug with the game Bee Swarm Simulator, where while hard to notice, the bug is making my bees freeze as my character is not updating to the server, and afterwards I show an example as to how the UI can stop working as well if it has Server Sided actions that requires constant server update to function.

A few minutes later a message popped up kicking me from the server due to a “Connection timeout”, this bug seriously makes playing Roblox unplayable on these servers and forces me to constantly search for a server in the US, which isn’t ideal.

Expected behavior

In the video my bees should be following my roblox character when I move as shown below

In addition I should be able to interact with the [Make Honey] Button

I’ve been having the same exact issue for the past few days. The São Paulo servers have always been more unstable than its USA siblings, but seems like it has become worse as of recently. While it is possible to workaround this problem by constantly hunting other servers, in PvP games such as PHIGHTING! and FRONTLINES it simply isn’t viable as any other location results in 200+ ping.

If I were you, I would just use a free VPN. Not favorable, but probably the best option for not experiencing lag. It is disappointing, but will most likely have to wait until they fix the server itself. It is very new though, so it might just need some time.

I’m having the same problem. At first I thought it was a connection problem with my internet provider, and after some testing I realized that the problem is actually with the Roblox servers.

I’m having the same problem. I discovered that people using Vivo internet service can’t play on servers in São Paulo, while others with different providers can. When you enter the game, after about a minute your character freezes in relation to other players, and you can no longer interact with anything, but you continue receiving server update packets. So other people continue playing normally and you can see them, but they can’t see you. I’m having to play on nearby servers like the one in Miami, and the ping is over 150 ms.

Thank you guys for reporting this issue. We can see from our analytics that users in South America, especially in Brazil, are experiencing networking issues. We are investigating and in contact with network providers. We will try to mitigate the impact until we can come to a permanent solution

For those experiencing issues in Brazil, if you know and are willing to share – could you let me know who your internet service provider is? (Telxius/Telefonica (VIVO), etc?)

I’m also seeing issues only on BR servers. The client stays partially connected (I can see others and chat), but server-side actions stop sending, and other players can’t see my movement or messages. This has also happened to other players in the same BR servers, including people from different regions, but I’ve only seen this once, and I’m not sure if it’s even the same issue.
My ISP is: Telefónica / Telxius.

Thank you all for letting us know your ISPs!

On Tuesday, we made some changes to help mitigate the impact. We’re noticing a strong correlation between certain internet service providers and packet loss. Thank you all for your reports on this thread

Please let us know if you are still currently experiencing these issues

Hi again!

I’ve been trying different server locations for the past week and Brazil seems to be ‘slightly’ more stable, but the problem has spread to other server locations like US ones where I get the same connectivity issues as what used to happen on Brazil (Brazil still has them but servers tend to survive for longer now, as previously these servers used to last 10 minutes or less.)

Not sure if anyone’s having similar problems but unfortunately it’s still a task to search for a stable server.

Ever since brazilian servers released for me they have been pain, it always has ping spikes compared to US servers, randomly my client will stop sending & receiving packets from/to the server for many seconds which completely ruin gameplay, 90% of the time it’s like this, only very rarely the connection is actually stable and playable, the south american servers have been a curse instead of a blessing and I wish we went back to the US servers

when are they gonna fix this problem for good? i’m still dealing with this, it started the week before last, it’s IMPOSSIBLE to play on sao paulo servers, i usually play around 60/90ms and out of nowhere it spikes to 2k/3k, my isp is brisanet.

This issue is still happening to me to this day, although not as frequently. However, when it does happen it lasts quite a while and the game becomes literally unplayable. This only happens in Brazil servers for some reason, anywhere else works just fine. My ISP is Movistar.
