After adjusting a face accessory to fix clipping with a beard accessory, the changes are not preserved when saving the avatar as a new avatar.
I am using a full face mask to keep my avatar’s face static (since dynamic heads cause unwanted facial movement
). Because my avatar also has a beard, the mask initially clips into it. I fix this by slightly moving the mask forward on the Z axis and slightly scaling it down, which resolves the clipping perfectly.
After pressing Apply, everything looks correct. However, when I go back and select “Add as new avatar”, Roblox saves the avatar but resets the accessory to its previous position. It appears that the adjustment changes are ignored during the save process.
This issue is consistently reproducible.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Equip a beard accessory on your avatar (i was personally able to reproduce the issue using the following assets (links provided below to help reproduce more easily) i assume the same issue applies to many other catalog assets that support accessory adjustment. to keep the report simple, I will only describe my own case
) - Equip a full face mask accessory
- Open Avatar Editor and go to “Accessory Adjustment”
- Move the mask slightly forward on the Z axis and scale it down until it no longer clips with the beard
- Press Apply
- Go back and click “Add as new avatar”
- Equip the newly saved avatar
- Observe that the mask reverts to its previous position, as if the adjustment was never applied
Expected Behavior:
The saved avatar should retain the adjusted accessory position and scale exactly as applied.

in that case, you might as well test it directly on my avatar. here’s my profile link: https://www.roblox.com/users/520893848/profile
