I’m currently working on a game about two roles, guardians and nightmares, where players can choose from each round. The gameplay is similar to Splatoon. Players will have to restore or destroy structures around the map, and the team that has the majority of the “structure score” wins. Structure score is calculated based on how much health of structures are in a team’s favor.
Last time, I made a cool shatter effect for people when they die, and made it so the player sees who killed them when they die. This time, I made it so the player can see who they killed, added a cool effect that appears when there’s one minute left, and a way to communicate with teammates.
First, I’d like to showcase the kill logging.
This appears when you kill, or shatter someone. This is just an image, it has a cool appear and disappear animation.
Then there’s the short and sweet time warning when there’s one minute left. The animation could be improved, but I still think it’s satysfying.

And the thing I’ve been saving for last, team communication! I made a feature where you can press the F or C key to communicate with teammates, you can say two things: “Come here!”, and “Oh yeah!”. I would put a GIF of it here, but the file size is too big. You can easily test in the game linked below though!
I will make the messages appear bigger, but for now they may be pretty small if you have a big screen.
