Greetings.
It is time for the community to appoint a new Elected Site Director.
Please read the speeches below written by each of the applying candidates so that you may vote for the best one. All speeches will remain anonymous until after the election ends. Speeches are presented exactly as they were provided, without any modifications.
Speech A
Good morning, evening, and afternoon to all members of the SCP Foundation!
I am humbled to introduce myself to you as a candidate for the position of Elected Site Director− undoubtedly, the most important job that someone could ever hope of achieving within the Foundation. I believe that I am most suited for this job because of my natural leadership and sharp thinking, as well as other qualities that I personally feel shouldn’t need to be mentioned at this time.
However, I do not believe that this job is entitled to me. That should never be the case for anyone wishing to pursue something like this. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to express themselves in whatever manner they wish to, so long as it proves to benefit our goals in the long-run. And that, ultimately, is my end goal. I wish to increase Foundation productivity exponentially and assure that everyone in this Foundation has a job to pursue. I believe it is the job of the Elected Site Director, not to simply oversee our Foundation, but to prepare it− and its members− for the future.
In order to do so, my agenda will be prioritized differently to the rest of the candidates that you will read off from:
-
I believe that our research departments (the Science and Medical Departments) should take priority when it comes to manpower (number of active personnel) and on-site interactions, and be given more opportunities experience true immersion off of our site. As it stands, there have been issues that do not allow our research departments to fulfill their duties to the fullest extent, mostly due to lack of testing or (as aforementioned) sheer manpower. I also believe that, in order to solve this, our development team and research department staff must invest in finding new ways to appeal to the demographic that comes with being a member of the SCP genre− by however means necessary.
-
Personnel above Level-0 clearance should reserve the right to be in a department. No one should be wandering around doing nothing, as it is retrogressive to what we strive for as a group. Everyone should have something to do here, no matter what it is. If someone wants to be a researcher, we should be providing them with the resources and material needed in order to learn how we work. If someone wants to be a security guard, we should be providing them with the proper training and discipline. However, I also believe that− if we are to provide these accommodations− personnel should be willing to adapt and overcome the trials we offer to them instead of treating it as a way to cause mischief.
-
Although our community has played a significant role in the way others perceive us as a group, there are times where I feel that our behavior can sometimes overspeak our end-goals. I believe that there should be a fine line between positive community interaction and downright exclusion. Whenever I see someone being deconstructed all because they might not know a whole lot about a specific topic, I become visibly irritated. I believe that all members within the Foundation reserve the right to learn more about us without having to risk being harassed or insulted in spite, and I am completely willing to help provide as much attention to those who need it.
As we continue to evolve and overcome our many struggles, it is absolutely crucial that we stop for a moment and begin to appreciate what it took for us to get where we are now. We must use the experience we have and dedicate ourselves to becoming the best version of ourselves that we possibly can.
Thank you for your consideration− and no matter who you vote for, I hope that the choice you make is in the best interest of not just yourself, but the Foundation as a whole.
Speech B
Greetings, everyone.
While addressing this speech to run for the Site Director position. Concepts are running through my head, although it is somehow hard to display them. Despite that, I addressed them nevertheless. I attempted the hardest to think of building your experience here, in the Foundation, more enjoyable. Anyhow, these are the problems which I believe could have it fixed through my time as the Site Director.
- Variety of Duties; repetitive duties can cause personnel to be inactive, causing a significant inactivity chain affecting departments. Thus, believing a variety of responsibilities to do on-site will solve this problem accordingly.
- Department Joint Communication Server ; I aim to create a department personnel server, including both non-combative departments and combative departments, making personnel easier to communicate when requiring assistance.
- Class-D Activities ; it is regular when people are bored; they quit to do something else. This same rule applies to Class-D personnel, once they are tired of waiting in the Test Subject Containment zone, they either riot or leave the game. I believe this problem can be easily solved by fixing all the issues above and give them more events to attend to, such as mass tests to interact with the SCPs.
Conclusion , it is evident that most of the issues above are already tested out by the previous Site Directors. Though some have gotten fixed, and some are still an issue to this day. I hope to become the Elected Site Director and solve them with my experiences. However, I hope to do more than just the expressed issues listed above. So I wish for you to take time and consider this speech to spend your vote. Thank you.
