Search/Discovery suppression despite strong performance

Category: Search & Discovery
Game: Street Outlaws Cash Days
Experience ID: 9370296952
Creator: AussieGameCo
Maturity rating: Minimal • Ages 5+ (no restrictions)

Our game Street Outlaws Cash Days performs strongly whenever Roblox surfaces it in Search or Home Recommendations. However, after brief test periods, Roblox suppresses the game’s visibility — especially for obvious keywords such as “Drag Racing” — causing impressions to collapse to near-zero.

This creates a false negative loop:
When shown → CTR, DAU, retention, and stickiness are all positive.
When hidden → numbers collapse, which the algorithm then interprets as low engagement.
Meanwhile, rival games with weaker features and lower engagement continue to hold visibility under the same keywords.

Steps to Reproduce
Search Roblox for “Drag Racing” on both mobile and desktop (tested with 13+ and 18+ accounts).
Observe that Street Outlaws Cash Days does not appear in results.
Compare with rival games that appear despite weaker keyword matches and poorer player-facing features.
Check Creator Analytics → Search & Discovery. Our traffic from “Search” is consistently flatlined.

Expected Behavior
Because our game title, description, and genre clearly match “Drag Racing”, and because performance metrics are strong when surfaced, the game should consistently appear in search results for that keyword.

Actual Behavior
Roblox suppresses impressions after short test windows.
Search traffic flatlines, creating artificially low averages.
This makes the game effectively invisible despite strong player interest.

Evidence

  1. Impressions & Plays by Source
Search is flatlined at the bottom, while Home Recommendation spikes show players do engage when we are surfaced.

  2. Retention & Stickiness
    Stickiness (DAU/MAU): 4.14% (+14.6%)
    Day 30 Retention: 0.20% (+45%)
Players return and stick when given the opportunity.

  3. Daily Active Users & New/Returning Users
    DAU average: 2,874 (+546%)
    New Users: +61.8%
    Returning Users: +43.3%
When surfaced, the game grows rapidly in both new and loyal players.

Impact
The game is effectively removed from search discovery, locking it out of fair competition. This harms both the developer and Roblox players looking for authentic drag racing experiences.

Request
Can Roblox confirm if this is a search indexing bug or an intended suppression rule?
If intentional, what specific criteria caused Street Outlaws Cash Days to be excluded from “Drag Racing” searches despite strong engagement signals?
Please re-evaluate our search visibility so the game can compete fairly.

Hi @AussieGameCo, sorry for the late response.

I checked with the team and they confirmed that this game was not suppressed. I do see that it was consistently receiving both Home and Search impressions, and I also searched for “Drag Racing” and observed that your game appeared on the first row of my search results page (looks like you have renamed it to Street Outlaws Drag Racing).

Search impressions are influenced by several factors, including but not limited to overall platform engagement (who is searching, what they’re searching for) and query engagement (what people play when they’re looking for X).

I don’t have visibility into where “Drag Racing” had appeared in your game prior to the name change. It looks like renaming your game could have allowed users looking at the game tile to understand it and engage more, resulting in overall stronger performance.

The team is constantly working on improving the quality of search results. Thanks!
