Seeking Feedback on Fashion Cats Performance and Player Experience

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out to gather feedback on my latest game, Fashion Cats, to ensure there’s nothing we’re overlooking that might be affecting its performance.

For context, I own a group with over 1 million members and have launched several successful games. Typically, our games follow a consistent growth pattern: they start with gradual traction through sponsorships and then gain momentum through the home recommendation system. However, Fashion Cats has not followed this pattern, and its traction has remained minimal despite a significant investment of hundreds of thousands of Robux in advertisements.

One factor that may have contributed is the timing of its release. When Fashion Cats launched, Roblox’s genre system was unavailable, meaning the game didn’t have a genre assigned during its critical early release period. It was weeks before we were able to update the genre, which I believe could have negatively impacted its discoverability. While the genre has since been updated, the game’s performance hasn’t improved, leaving us unsure if this issue stems from the timing of the genre system or something about the game itself.

To rule out any potential issues on our side, I’d greatly appreciate your feedback. If you have time to check out Fashion Cats, please let me know:

  • Does the gameplay feel engaging and polished?
  • Are there any aspects of the design or user experience that could be improved?
  • Is there anything that might deter players from returning after their first session?

Your input will help us identify whether this is a problem with discoverability tied to the genre system or if there are areas we need to address to improve player experience.

Thank you so much for your time and feedback!

Best regards,

It got boring quick.

Everything seems to be setup to earn you Robux.

I have never seen anyone dress up a cat.

Cats don’t hop.

There is not a sense of “home”; no place to decortate.

Maybe add a runway since that is where people show off their collections. There, is a place you show off how a cat walks.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review my game! I genuinely appreciate your feedback. I’d love to dive into some of your points to understand them better and see how I can improve the game:

  1. Boring Aspect: Can you elaborate on what felt boring about the game? Do you think having a full server with other players to interact with could change that perception? Social interaction can sometimes make games feel more engaging, so I’d love to hear your perspective.
  2. Robux Comment: I noticed your point about the Robux aspect. The game includes 60+ free accessories, several free skins, and incentive skins for joining the group, all of which don’t require Robux. The VIP area and purses are the only paid elements. Do these specific features make the game feel “pay-to-play” to you? If so, how could this be adjusted or clarified to improve the experience? Your insight here would be helpful!
  3. Dressing Up Cats: Totally understand that dressing up a cat might feel unusual. Many Roblox games embrace unrealistic themes (like Pet Party or Kitten Game, which also let players dress up animals). Do you think the concept in my game is clear and easy to understand, or is there a way I could make it feel more intuitive for players?
  4. Runway Clarification: I saw your comment about a runway. The game currently features one where, after the dressing-up phase, players showcase their cats’ outfits one by one. Could you clarify what you meant here? Are you suggesting changes to the runway feature, or were you not aware it exists?

Thanks again for your review.

1 - Boring: It was boring because I got bored. The hair and outfits all look the same,

2- Robux: As an “experiencer" I can tell you I saw the request to purchase Robux way too often.

3 - Dressing Up Cats: It was just a comment. I doubt I am your audience.

4 - Runway Clarification: No; I did not see a runway. I saw an obstacle course.

Seems to me the runway should be the centerpiece of your game. It is an opportunity to introduce emotes and variety items (like custom light shows, and dresses with flowing trains, trash couture contest, etc, etc).

Now, if you could add the ability to design outfits… hum.
