Sensitive Words; Are They OK In Certain Cases?

I want to make an educational game to help people learn about one of my favorite topics… History! However, is it okay to use words like Nazi and Hitler for educational purposes, and include pictures of those things? If not, how will people learn? Is there any way I can circumvent this, or is my game simply not possible?

Edit: There seems to be a misunderstanding here; the game wont mention the holocaust, I just wanted to know if it was okay to say his name. I.e. Adold Hitler rose to power and became the leader of Nazi Germany, or the German Reich. The game wont revolve around WWII, WWII will simply be part of it.

I’d think so, maybe add a warning in the game description and main menu warning the game uses strong language/some my find offensive.

Will my game get moderated though?

I don’t know, maybe contact a staff member. This isn’t my call, I don’t know how to help out any farther. Sorry.

Do you know how I can get in touch with ROBLOX staff?

If I were you, I wouldn’t do this. Chances are, you probably can’t, although I do not know for sure. It’s best to let people learn about this topic either in school or elsewhere in their own life. Roblox isn’t the place to talk about this kind of history.

I recommend choosing a lighter topic, or just not doing this at all.

If you can find a staff member on the forum, I’d suggest messaging them there. There might be some on discord also if you can find them there.

The goal is to index history into certain years, i.e. 1939. You select a year and it tells you that years happenings.

Thinking about this, I don’t know why’d we need a history index in Roblox. We could simply google this information, and find way more information on the topic I assume?

I wanted to make a fun and interactive learning experience, was gonna add other fun stuff, but simply Googling and reading some Wikipedia page isn’t fun, and in my experience I learn more when I’m engaged.

Ah, I just don’t think tons of 8 - 10 year old kids will be happy to learn about this topic on Roblox. As, they’d rather be playing games.

I think you’re wrong. A lot of kids are curios and want to learn.

I guess, I just felt like a lot of kids in my history class aren’t really learning much/don’t know much going into it. I just felt like it would be nice to have a place where learning can be interactive and engaging

Also Roblox’s demographic is not 8-10 lol

I see lots of people in my high school playing Roblox

Is there actually a way to restrict users based on their birthdate that they provided to ROBLOX? As in they can’t join unless they’re 13+ or something

You can test for whether users are over or under 13, and kick them from the game based on that, yes.

Might do that then

Ah, I see where your going with here. I guess I wasn’t thinking straight on this topic. @BIueMalibu keep me updated please on your progression!

Thanks, I’ll try to get in contact with a ROBLOX staff member to find out how to proceed. I feel as if everyone deserves an environment that’s suited for learning and that keeps you engaged, rather than just listening to a teacher blathering on about what happened when.

As people have stated previously, I think this is one of those projects that REALLY probably needs to be run by a moderator before proceeding. Sensitive topics like these are usually a pretty big no-go zone for Roblox and publishing it without prior approval could be bad.
