Sent notification to OP when thread is closed

I didn’t get any kind of notification that my bug report was closed for being a duplicate:

"Discard" button next to "Create Topic", "Reply", "Edit", and "Send Message" teeny-tiny on mobile

[Screenshot_20250825_1_Chrome] [Screenshot_20250825_2_Chrome] [Screenshot_20250825_3_Chrome] [Screenshot_20250825_4_Chrome] Occuring on Chrome Android. I believe this started happening after the Forum when through that major software upgrade.

I could’ve pretty easily missed it if I hadn’t scrolled down a different report to the Related Topics section. There should be a Notification to notify topic creators that their thread was closed, especially in cases like this where there’s a special reason instead of just being locked after inactivity.

This was probably just human error on the moderator’s part. Generally they send out messages for closures like these. @HakaiShin_AOD

I appreciate that HakaiShin sent me a DM after you pinged them, however I still think that there should be an automated notification anyway. There’s no reason for them to re-type the notice and send a DM manually, the system should do it for them.
