As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to grant analytics access to team members while restricting their access to monetization data.
In our development team, administrators cannot hide monetization analytics from developers while still allowing them to access other analytics. This means if we need to keep revenue confidential for business reasons, we must remove all analytics access. This prevents developers from seeing important data like player engagement, retention, and gameplay statistics that they need to improve the game.
If this issue is addressed, it would improve my development experience because developers could make informed decisions based on player data without accessing sensitive financial information. Currently, this limitation is forcing us to consider using external analytics tools instead of Roblox’s built-in analytics, which adds unnecessary complexity to our workflow.
Use Case: Development teams where business owners need to keep revenue data confidential (for investor relations, competitive reasons, or contractual obligations) but still want developers to optimize gameplay based on player behavior and engagement metrics.
Proposed Solution: Split analytics permissions into “Monetization Analytics” and “General Analytics” so administrators can grant access to each independently.
